Installing an extra weapon onto a 1M auton will see it still exclusively use its particle cannon. The extra weapon then cannot be removed, and the particle cannon itself cannot be removed because the auton bay can't remove devices. This renders the auton bay useless for upgrading this model of auton. It may be that the items simply aren't installing properly, but either way it's not firing them.
Possible fixes: Allow manual removal of devices using the auton bay. Possibly tweak auton to use multiple weapons effectively.
1M auton eats weapons (1.2+CC)

The problem with it is that the device is being installed as a primary weapon. That in turn means the AI will only fire one primary weapon at a time, and usually it just sticks with it's original one. It *can* fire the others, but that happens very, very rarely
The inability to remove devices/weapons though is very problematic though, and needs to be added regardless

This problem also seems to occur on the 300D.
I think autons in general need a full overhaul of stats so that the auton bay actually works. At present, the default values limiting device choice, buggy point defense (Spend a load of cash on a fancy auton. See your 310's kill it through crazed longreach fire), clunky interface and inability to use the customised weapons makes auton-tweaking really, really hard.

try using PD overhaul mod? It's not overpowered, but it adds many interesting point defense devices, and also uses a smarter algorithm. I myself always use it. Many thanks to the author, TVR!
Yes, look at my avatar, I have a wyvera type ship.
I'm aware of that mod, and it's very useful. However the ability of a mod to fix a serious flaw in the game does not mean that flaw doesn't need to be fixed anyway. Plus since that mod is unregistered, it cuts out the ability to post scores/games to multiverse, which I'm quite keen on.sun1404 wrote:try using PD overhaul mod? Oh well. Maybe George can incorporate the new algorithm, or take it and tweak it here and there. I think it's much better than the current system.
