I recently got this error when checking to see if I can let the Teratons do another experiment on me.

The same day I had another error that I'm not sure what the meaning of is, but I did lose a bunch of enhancements on a weapon around that time.

Thanks! The problem with unvGetTime is fixed in the next version.
I don't know the problem with the undefined object reference. But if you have a save file that reproduces it, then please send it ([email protected])
Thanks!

Thanks! Unfortunately, I've saved over that savegame since then and I haven't had that error since. I'll be sure to backup the save if it happens again.george moromisato wrote:Thanks! The problem with unvGetTime is fixed in the next version.

I found this problem a few days back and recorded it, but alas I also made the mistake of overwriting my savegame (I kinda hit a major dead end). If I find myself more Teraton researchers I'll gladly help out.
By the way, this error happens once per nest with research as far as I can tell... if that means anything (e.g. one experiment per nest that allows it).
Does undergoing research net you any negative effects? It would make sense, given that you lose time and suffer damage... but I have yet to see any negative effects. If you do too many experiments, do you die or something?

My first mod, mostly done, still balance testing.

Yeah, I think I was the first person to post here about how you could avoid the Teratons killing you in their experiments back when they were first introduced.Bobby wrote:you stand a good chance of dying, but having some good meds negates that mostly.
Found it! http://neurohack.com/transcendence/foru ... highlight=
It may have changed since then (that post is almost 3 years old), but I've been hitting all the Teraton stations with an autodoc in my cargo hold and haven't died yet. There are 4 different experiments they might run on you - implanting a tumor, implanting an eel, cutting open your arms, and injecting you with a virus. You will survive any of these experiments if you have the right stuff in your cargo hold. If you have artificial plasma, you will survive having your arms cut open. If you have hypermycin, you will survive the eel or the virus. If you have cancer dust, you will survive the tumor. Or, if you have an autodoc, you will survive any of them...so if you see an autodoc, buy it! If you don't have the medical supplies, make note of where the stations that do research are so you can come back when you do, because you can only be experimented on once per station.

From the error message, it makes me think that you should be able to return to the same nest for more experiments after a certain amount of time, but the counter is missing or misnamed in the code so it won't let you.Wurmish wrote:I found this problem a few days back and recorded it, but alas I also made the mistake of overwriting my savegame (I kinda hit a major dead end). If I remember correctly...
When I underwent experiments, I had NO medical items in my cargo hold, yet I survived 3 different types... so it's just a chance of death, and the items make survival a guarantee?

medical items will stop your death in the event you would otherwise die, but I'm not totally sure if its a complete guarantee.Wurmish wrote:If I remember correctly...
