I am being attacked by ferrian warriors because of ferians killed by dwarg raiders, and not even by dwarg raiders who were following but hostile wild dwarg raiders.
Ferian warriors should ONLY be generated as hostile if the player or a wingman or auton has killed a ferian, not when forces hostile to the player have killed miners trying to shoot him. Or if they're going to kill the player who hasn't harmed them they should kill *Everyone* including the Dwarg or whoever actually triggered their generation.
Ferians still psychotic

The warriors should only be hostile to whomever killed the ferians IMO. Or like Atarlost said, they would need to be universally hostile.

I'm starting to think ferian miners need a "leash" to keep them within x distance of the hive, and that hives need to be prevented from being generated closer than about x+50ls from the nearest hostile station.
When they were just crunchies it didn't matter if you couldn't throw a rock without hitting two of them in an asteroid ring, but now that they get avenged by nigh-unstoppable death machines that's a problem.

I have to wonder, why are the ferians there, now? They don't do anything, and new players at least are going to assume they're as off limits as every other friendly ship.
I'd add in an exchange for them, and make them prize shiny things and nice foods.

Prize shiny things? But they *mine* shiny things......Fossaman wrote:I have to wonder, why are the ferians there, now? They don't do anything, and new players at least are going to assume they're as off limits as every other friendly ship.

But foods, medicine, other stuff like that.....might be worth it.

New players will probably be able to make the connection from the ringers telling them that they want ore to the message you get when landing on a Ferian colony that lots of ore is being processed onsite. Adding an exchange would discourage them from making that leap, since there would be nothing to differentiate the Ferians from other stations. Besides, I don't really get the feeling that the ferians want anything other than the raw materials they mine- all they do is consume, reproduce, and defend themselves. Remember that the Ferians are zoanthropes, and might not even have the kind of minds that can understand reciprocal exchange or communicate with non-Ferians.
