I think the game crashed because the salvager was supposed to dock with a station that wasn't there.
Do you have a bugtracker account Drako? If so, then please post it there. It seems that george is away at the moment, so some of the bug reports here might sink so far down they dont get caught. Trac is a safe place for them, that guarantees they will be dealt with (in time).
