you get it as usual, by doing a mission in St Kats. The mission is received by going to the large ring station, the person will say something along the lines of "I expect shield of level 5 or higher will be needed" do that mission and he installs the galactic map


and thanks a load for this mod, I've been playing it for quite a while, but keep being destroyed by the really large airship sung slaver things. This mod plus the +400 weapons mod is pretty deadly haha

Glad I had that Galactic Map from the beginning in 1.06a. Somewhere along the way my Captains Log seems to have become corrupted, I can't scroll to look at all the systems anymore. I do still see the ones I'm in and a few others near by.

Ran into another glitch, perhaps already fixed for 1.07. Tried to allow Volkov to encounter his wife. Resulted in game freeze/crash. Resorted to a previous save and kept going... that's what I get for trying to be a nice guy. My escorts continue to hang out in St. Kats while I explore the universe...

There's also something that's probably a bug related to Penitents and Ferians. I have a few places where a penitent station shows up in a Ferian mining area. The Ferians must get tired of getting blown up by the station, so they send out the warriors. Only, once the place is destroyed the Ferians don't stop. Given a bit of time you get a whole ring of warriors shooting at the wreckage of the penitent station. (For now I'm chalking it up to a personality quirk of the Ferians, in the spirit of enjoying the game.)

This becomes rather lucrative, eventually, because sometimes those Warriors miss. And hit their buddies. And they don't have shields or regenerate their armor. Rather nice place to go salvaging...

The Penitent/Ferians are a problem with the vanilla. This mod doesn't affect them. I may have fixed the issues with the wingmen, but I'm not sure. The galactic map was changed in 1.07. I had to hurry to get a working version of the mod running at all, so now I have to fix all the new bugs in the new version.

Thanks for letting me know about getting it in St. Kats;
Now that I have it, I am still having the same problem-when I access the Galactic Map, it works fine, but when I try to exit it, I get an error msg
Is anyone else having trouble exiting the Galactic Map?

I seem to be getting an error when trying to enter a system called the Hukara Nebula (in the system cluster at the top of the map above Sanctuary). The error is as follows:

program state: OnAnimate
Cannot create system NetHu8: Unknown Station Type: 0xDCAF6d36
game state: leaving stargate

From what I gathered, the station type refers to stHuariFortress2 which seems to be declared in the <!ENTITY... headers (I'm just going to use the programming lingo I know, excuse me if it sounds outlandish :p) but nowhere else. Seeing how the definition of stHuariFortress is a solid 700+ lines long, I'm a bit hesitant to simply copy it for stHuariFortress2. Is there a solution to this? Skimming the last few pages gave me nothing.

I know what it is. I removed HuariFortress2 in an attempt to consolidate code, but I forgot that it needs a special station in Hucara nebula. I'll fix it soon.

I can't gate to Elysium using the jumpdrive or Halo gem.

Okay, there's a new update on Xelerus. I fixed the crash with the Hukara nebula, and I fixed the crash when entering Elysium. I still don't understand what was wrong with Elysium, but the game insisted that Elysium had to be in its own galactic map. The Huari was just a case of some sloppy programing I did, but I fixed it and cleaned up the code a bit.

That's actually the same as in vanilla. It really isn't much, but it was the only way to make it work.
