Just wanted to see what happens if I put in gravity in Transcendence.

Awesome Mod! Maybe consider adding gravity to stars and asteroids, though.

Adding gravity to stars and asteroids would be nice, but I didn't want these comments:
1. AACCCH! I'm too slow in the freighter and the sun just sucked me up!
2. I'm flying though asteroids and I keep bouncing everywhere. :/
(well, the way I was thinking about it would've ended up with that XD )

I think I'll add a small tug from the nearest star to the playership so that you can't stay still anymore
One thing I noticed though is that if you dock to a station near a planet, the planet's gravity gets you. I don't know how to stop it through code though :/
For asteroids, I think I'll find the center of a cluster and add a gravity well there (although it leaves another problem for the belts :/ )
Thanks for the speedy input! :D

Asteroids have pretty trivial mass compared to planets so I'd continue to ignore them.

http://www.spiralwishingwells.com/guide ... enberg.pdf
and
http://www.spacedaily.com/reports/Stanf ... s_999.html

both demonstrate the views of gravity wells as documented by A.E. in terms of the gravity well B ( which sits under a planet and : well, you will see it in pictures )

anyway : the reason i bring this up is that while the T Universe appears 2D, it has alot of amazing math going on that when it is executing orders it takes many things into account, much "like" the universe we live in, effects are not simply effects as much as "cause and effect when your talking about attracting objects or repelling them : the momentum is a very powerful force in the T universe and strongly under-estimated, especially by pilots: so your getting sucked into the sun is possible, but not likely if the gravity understands that it's radi will often not conform to expectations once an object in motion enters the field : because you then have more going on then simply the tug.

Asteroid belts orbiting the star can have their own gravity wells: we call them " black holes " and while they are not exactly designed to be destructive: they often can be rolling dozers to a small system.

Here's an illustration of gravity's effect on weapons (look at the LRS):

FIX: I found a way to let players dock with wrecks now.

are you saying the gravity has a sling-shot effect on your weapons based on the speed of entering the orbit of that (planet) ?

this could be a problem: last time i played with that effect i went forward in time to be sitting here reading this post (Yikes )

Updated to fine-tune compatibility with docking onto stations near gravity wells (aka it turns off when attempting to dock to a station.)

Gravity is updated so that it doesn't accidentally drift the player when their ship is docked to a large station.

Love this  though it keeps me from just drifting with the Korolov freighters now... Easy wreck clean-up too :D
