Galactic Omni Device (G.O.D.) Mod 2.0

Post by TVR » Sun Nov 02, 2014 3:17 am

Have you ever wondered whether a Ranx Dreadnaught, Corporate Cruiser, Aquila or Deimos would win in a fight?

Have you ever wanted to test out a fancy new item without having to type in a UNID, or worse, start a new game each time?

Did you ever wish it were possible to travel instantly to St. Katherine's, Huaramerca, Elysium or Heretic, all from a convenient GUI menu?

Now you can (again).

Introducing the Galactic Omni Device 2.0, a new and improved version of alterecco's G.O.D.Mod that allows you to do all that and more. Now updated for Transcedence 1.3

Download link: http://forums.kronosaur.com/download/fi ... iew&id=832
Xelerus: http://xelerus.de/index.php?s=mod&id=1455

A short feature list:
- Spawn any item, ship or station in the game
- Install or remove devices and armor, refuel anywhere
- Travel to any system, instantly
- Alter properties such as fleet rank or black market bounty
- Add any enhancement to items
- And more, all from a simple dockscreen menu

Changes to xelerus version:
-- Updated for compatibility with Transcendence 1.3
-- Fixed Banking
-- Fixed Insurance
-- Fixed Head to Head ship fights
-- Ship Service can now install any level of item
-- Added Map Galaxy and Map System feature
-- Added Developer Shortcuts menu
-- Added Sovereign ID to Analyze Target
-- Added View Cargohold, Loot and Jettison to Customize Target
-- Added Damage Target and Repair Target to Target Services
-- Added AI Editor to Target Services
-- Added total itemtype count to VT-Type Browser
-- No longer overwrites dsShipInterior

Changes to git-branch version:
-- Fixed timestop not working
-- Fixed duplicate menu entries
-- Fixed insurance
-- Added Map Galaxy and Map System feature

Provided in this download are two versions of G.O.D.Mod, the classic xelerus version, and the current git-branch version. Both have received numerous bug fixes, and work together.

If you've noticed a bug, or have an idea for a new feature - please be encouraged to post it.

Don't MOD without G.O.D. - Your multipurpose Transcendence development toolkit and more, re-engineered for 1.3

The original G.O.D.Mod by alterecco (both versions) and these updated versions are public domain. They may be freely used, altered and redistributed in whole or in part with no restrictions or attribution.

Wow, this is awesome. Glad that you kept this alive. Just might have to spin up good ol' Transcendence to play with this again. Let me know if there is anything i can do, like commit access to original repo or something.
How did you work around overriding dsShipInterior? There must be some new development goodies sine last i was here :D

Anyways, keep up the good work!

Nice to see you back around here! A lot of new development stuff got added over the last year or two, so a lot has changed under the hood of the game.

Hey alterecco, glad that you like it!

Much thanks for G.O.D.Mod, especially for releasing it as public domain - it has been a critical tool for all Transcendence modding.

As for commits, please do! Currently lacking hosting or a github account, but will inform about updates.

The method used for adding dockscreen actions was backported from the git-branch version to the old Xelerus version.

Alright, it's been great having you back, alterecco. See you around?

there is a (small/minor) bug in the dec2hex function in DSF.
It doesn't return a number if you pass 0 to it

I fixed it with a blatant hack by intercepting the 0 and returning 0 properly.
