Another render for my pirate faction. This time, it's the heavy fighter, which I have titled "Brutal class" (while the lighter fighter is the "Savage class")

And here we are, with the pirate's mobile base, lurking in an asteroid field near you!

ok, one of my apparently-better-than-anything-else-I-make item icons. This time, a power pack for any of you who need such a thing (for, eg, a longzhu sphere style ammo recharger, or a superconducting shield style thing)

(this one will be released publicly once I have "perfected" it)

that would also work for other things stored in or containers. It looks very good. Keep it up!

A ship with 180 facings will take at least 6 seconds to fully rotete. Way too slow.
I wouldn't recommend that, especially for fighters and gunships.
no it wouldn't...
I've tried it w/ 120- it's no slower than normal...

Hi evilbob, hi all,

Your Brutal class is class ! I've always liked twin-hulled ships ^-^ Spiculum and Gladius from TOG, Jalthi in WC1 were my favorites. Definitely, yours is sleek and menacing, up to its name !

yeah, now I need to balance them out. Early game with NAMI launcher, quad laster with repeating= "2" and heavy titanium are nigh-impossible when you only have class one and a recoilless.

(I'm also working on a patch spider, as suggested by... someone on IRC)

Off-topic but - now, that's very strange. Did that 120 facings really work? And how fast was the "normal" speed you're saying? How long did it take to rotate?

they're going to be one of the first groups the player encounters in my adventure mod. Like charon pirates, but more brutal and desperate- less of a threat to large places, but still dangerous for lone travelers in, say, a starting ship
