OK, this is my first attempt at modding Transcendence. Basically it adds two descriptions in the 'drop item in pit' screen that indicate current energy and material levels. I tried to stay in 'feel' with the existing disposition descriptions.

There is no description with energy or material below 8, a 'low' description between 8 and 20, and a 'high' description at 21 or above. I did add in an 'angry' description for below zero, but from I can work out I don't think it ever gets there. When you try to do something without enough energy/mat it doesn't deduct the energy/mat, just gets lower disposition. (I think)

I'm considering adding in a version that also allows you to upgrade armor in the same was you can with devices,shields,engines and reactors. You couldn't use armor for material any more, but with enough mining you don't really need it (at least I don't). Heck, just hang around a red mining station and attack borers, they'll give you miners as often as not.
