For Sandbox, the player will start out as a neutral in the game, which means that most factions will show up neutral as well.
This means that all the factions will show up as green on the map.
The player will not be able to tell the difference between Charon or Commonwealth, and it would make identification of ships much harder.
Now, I propose that Transcendence should allow us to change faction colors on the LRS and not be limited to just green, grey and red (sometimes grey shows up too, after death).
What else should be improved on the LRS for enhanced gameplay?

Perhaps have the dot indicating faction and a ring around the dot indicating alignment? Perhaps also have triangles to indicate capital ships? Just a couple of ideas I had.

If we have shapes how about squares for stations? (shipwrecks not included)
Bigger ships could be represented with a bigger dot, based on image size.
Anything attacking something (ordered to attack), as opposed to guarding or on patrol, could flash or pulse in intensity.
I still see colors determining faction, the default being red for enemy, green for friendly, and light grey for neutral? (in addition to the initial proposal of allowing us to declare a color for factions)
