Now to a touchier issue. To orthographic or to not orthographic?
Here are two iconic structures from george's assets that look evil in ortho projection:
The reason some engine effects don't align up in all rotations is because the ships are rendered in perspective view and that leads to some approximation of the exhausts when they rotate. Orthographic rendered assets would solve that problem, but would look weird to people who are used to the traditional perspective.

I'm not an ortho fan myself, especially not on big renders. Small things like ships in naev are definitely passable, but getting up to the scale of even moderately sized 256x256 sized renders it looks really wonky (re: viruk's large size renders).

I'm loving the graphics the only issue is that the CSC engines in the glamour shot kinda look like those lights on older jets. Otherwise every one of these graphics is huge and awesome. Nice work! Keep it up.
