 There’s nothing anywhere that mentions that you can soom in and out on the galactic map just like you can on the system map using the plus and minus keys, but it does work. That might be worth at least making a note of on the galactic map screen, possibly down at the bottom near where it says you can use the arrow keys to scroll.

In addition to the above excellent suggestion, please make the galactic and star system map remember their last zoom setting.
As it is, the zoom setting is forgotten in between game loads.
