Automatic ( forced ) " Upgrade "

The upgrade should be optional.
besides eating up internet without the users permission to download at the time it is available
( because metered Internet use could cost players that over extend their usage:
mine is 10 USD a MB - so the new version ran me a nice amount of money
which was more then I wanted to spend on Internet )

A computer, connected to the internet while trying to play earlier versions, can not escape the download of the latest version ....

The only solution I can do is block the game from using the Internet so I can continue multi-tasking

Actually, it is optional, though it isn’t particularly well documented. Go into the Settings.xml file and change noAutoUpdate from “false” to “true” to disable the automatic updates. You can also set noCollectionDownload to “true” to further save on bandwidth if you have them backed up somewhere.

Thank You ...a little Late to know this - not everyone pokes around other people's files..
( I always fear messing around because of checksums )
