Just had an interesting idea. Have a ship that goes around and sells items to the station you tell it to for you and bring you back the credits or rins. It would save you time but would be risky due to the items being not in your control.
It would also be helpful to upgrade its drive and shields too but that goes for all the ships that can join you.
