Wierd Salvager behavior bug

I found an interesting bug which makes killing salvagers way t0o easy. You wait for the salvager to start to dock with a wreck, but before it actually docks with it (turns to face the wreck). Then open fire on it. Rather than dock, it tries to fire back, but it drifts and stops over top of the wreck, so the wreck is blocking the omni-laser. It can't fire back, and you're free to open fire and kill the nomad. It really should be fixed.

That is the tactic I have used against them for quite some time now (since 1.0 at least). They always take a while looting wrecks. I doubt that it is a bug.

I'm not talking about waiting for them to start docking. You shoot before they start looting, while they're turning to the wreck. They drift over the wreck and just stop. They fire their weapon at you but they are over the wreck, so it hits the wreck. You can freely shoot the salvager until it dies.
