1.08d OnAnimate Crash possibly mod related

Transcendence 1.08d

I. Installed mods (downloaded about 2 weeks ago):
1. Weapons Extended 5 - http://xelerus.de/index.php?s=mod&id=1155
2. Mining Pack v1.04 - http://xelerus.de/index.php?s=mod&id=1079
3. The Network - http://xelerus.de/index.php?s=mod&id=848


Description:
When I fly around certain places in 2 systems (one of them was completely explored by me earlier, other one wasn't) I get Transcendence System Crash. It's repetitive - loading the savegame doesn't solve this problem System Crash happens in same place(s). It seems that 2 AI controlled ships are buggy...:

If it's network and you want to continue the game I suggest going around those two systems.
As for the debuglog, why is freighter Cyteen attacking Volkov? o.O

Thank you very much for quick and informative reply.

It's a damn shame about the Network, it's my favorite mod so far...
Is there a fairy simple way to edit savegames (editor, sth else)? Perhaps deleting those ships would help me now and in case of future bugs.

As freighter Cyteen attacking Volkov - It was attacking me before I ever recruited Volkov for reasons unknown causing Crash.
I did not attack freighters, I prefer to use precise weapons and I'm extra careful not to hit friendly targets.

Korolov Freighters do not normally return fire : someone ordered the AI ships to return fire , and they will not stop : they will hunt you or wait for you if they are ordered to attack the attacker. ( or a random shot hits the Sov controlling the Freighter if so ordered )

IF you did not attack a Korolov Ship or station, Sov : your game would be an Interesting file to see : AI ships like the Freighters are not supposed to do attack the player or Volkov ( but sometimes he does need to get Aired Out : No Vodka for you! )

sorry, no save game editors here, only cheat codes, and i doubt they will help... tho, i wonder if we could remove the gates, to stop you going to the buggy systems again....

I have never attacked Korolov nor did they ever attack me. Volkov is probably not to be blamed, at least not this time... On the other hand poor guy is suffering from alcohol withdrawal syndrome and is little edgy at times.

For some reason I was unable to add attachments to my posts (filesize? opera browser?).

there is no need to remove gates I have no problem with remembering Crash places.
Unfortunately one Crash occurs near the gate I need to fly through... My initial idea was either to delete entries of faulty ships or replace them with data copied from other ships. If that's not doable (no savegame editor and in notepad++ it doesn't look readable to me) I'll just start another game with different mod combo:

- Weapons Extended 5
- Mining Pack v1.04
- Dynamic Systems V5.b (by RPC)- as a replacement for the Network

You could try to gate to another system using debug, but if it's too much of a hassle (especially without cheat codes) it's probably not worth it.

I cannot exclude WE5. In the past WE had troubles with unexpected crashes. After that, George fixed many bugs related to crashes and I added lots of "safety catch code" to prevent crashes.
After months of testing, I was expecting WE5 to be bug free.

I've got another, similar one.

Mods:
- Weapons Extended 5
- Mining Pack v1.04
- Dynamic Systems V5.b (by RPC)

I have deleted "the Network" from extensions.
It's quite possibe that all mods are fine, maybe they are simply incompatible.
I can post a savegame and full debug if needed.

Ok, this time it's a Salvager Nomad having an invalid destination o.O
Try a Vanilla game and go up untill around St. Kats and see if it has a bug. If so, there might be something wrong with the CStandardShipAI, which is in all cases.
It might be that the new mods are introducing something that the ship AI can't handle.

Hey, folks. I am having a similar problem in 1.08d vanilla.

Transcendence 1.08d

I. Installed mods: none

II. Description:
After entering St. Kat's and flying around for ~10 min (no combat, as I recall) I turned back to clear Charon. On my 2nd St. Kat's refueling jump I encountered this crash while trying to get back to the Charon gate (last line of crash error: game state: in game). With timing I was able to make it, but now trying to return to St. Kat's crashes the game and this savegame can no longer progress.

III. Attachments: cannot attach, will send on request

Error message from debug below:

Unable to continue due to program error.

I'm experiencing similar crashes while flying about in Eridani. I do have mods (GOD, Captain's Log). Already sent the debug log and save file to George.
