Is this a bug or just a funny RNG scenario? Will Kate Morgental be able to get out of this fix? Hehehe.

After kicking The Slicer's stinking arse, I left to continue my Korolov job and when I passed by Rigel.... Lo and behold! I found Kate's cruiser still stuck in the Battle Arenas' cage. Hilariously strange right? Harharhar!

Am in Eta Ceti. Sold my wares everywhere and passing by Rigel I still found Kate's Cruiser still stuck in the Arena. If I end up in the Heretic, will I also find her there? Can this be an overlooked bug after all if I find her in the Svalbard Explorer?

Caught? Destroy it, then plunder it! Worst that can happen is she scolds you at Heretic, which is not a penalty. Clearly, she has insurance.

did you tried to use a mod-weapon with a high repulsion effect(with low, or none damage)?
Modify its armors to make it vulnerable to EMP, then you could make it spin, and may be push off the ship...

It's not actually harming anything hanging there.
The real solution is to either remove the arena walls, making the arena its own star system, possibly even a lost gate knocked out of a supernova, or to make the reflection reflect about the normal of the wall.
The former can be done with the engine as it is. The latter provides support for the use of walls in other places in the future.
Calculating normals in real time would probably cause problems, especially since the wall sprites aren't smooth, so a pre-baked normal mask would be needed. I think I'd use hue for angle because it's traditional and value for opacity. With this change ships could only get caught if they hit the wall at a right angle, otherwise they'd slide along it.

one of the BIGGEST issues that the ships have is the lacking of the ability to reverse / retreat from an encounter :
the only actual barrier to them in the game is the Arena, but they could probably still use the feature during attacks ( not just for Military ships retreating to recharge shields )
I have spent many nights trying to figure out how to prevent ships from getting stuck in the Barrier : even made it Hostile to them : but they simply do not see it and therefore understand that they have an obstruction to the path.
" better pathing AI " is one idea : but I am not a code writer : I am just a player that loves mining
