2nd onDestroy event for destructible turrets...

causes the parent station, guards and other turrets to go hostile when the wreck is destroyed.

Was finally able to pin that bug down to the second onDestroy after your explanation to RPC on station HP mechanics.

Location: Hmm... I'm confused. Anybody have a starmap to the Core?

Actually I've seen this bug for a while (that there were 2 ondestroys, one for on death and one for wreck destruction).
Request to either have a tag in front of code to get it to run in OnDeath or wreckDestruction.

Another solution would be to split OnDestroy into two events:
OnDeath
and
wreckDestruction.

The easiest thing might be to check for aWreckObj. If it is set, then it is the first destroy (station abandoned). If Nil, then it is the wreck being destroyed.

You would still have to hard-code that for the engine-triggered aggro check however, I believe

Agreed, but remind me of the situation again: why shouldn't the station get mad? Is it a friendly station? Why are you destroying its turrets?

It shouldn't get mad because the turret is already dead.
Clearing wrecks is useful, or it might just be a case of friendly fire.

So that wrecked turret does not get in the way of docking. Same idea as scuttling ships.

With the tiny quantity of structural hp they have and miniscule footprint (even worse when looked at in meters, not pixels, due to the logarithmatic scale), wrecked turrets being used as defensive barriers is a worse idea than simply keeping your guards docked and hoping their shields absorb all the shots. (Often all it takes is a single blast howitzer shot to wipe out the turret wreck)

When the turret's width is approximately 5 meters wide versus the 50x diameter of a cw ring station, its like trying to hide an adult elephant behind a signpost.
