Korolev escorting an infinite source of money??

I'm playing my first game of Transcendence, and I'm running into some strange behaviour.
The first Korolev station gave me a couple escorting missions, but then said they had no more available. The second one I encountered gave me no missions at all (there were no other stations in the system anyway). However now the third keeps giving me missions without seemingly an end. First I assumed they would stop giving me missions after a while, so I should try to profit from them as long as I could, but now all that escorting is getting a little boring, and space starts to look rather filled...

So I'm wondering, is Korolev an infinite money source, and should I just leave if I feel I have enough money (how much money is needed to play through the game?), or will the missions stop eventually?... I have already done some twenty escorts.

after enough 5000 credit ones, i think they stop giving them. never did check that, though. it would take a over 1million to get top of the line non-ringer gear.

Which missions are you doing? The 5000 credit ones, or the 2000 credit ones? That looks a little bit buggy to me.

5000 credits per run. It's in a system before Charon, so I noticed while checking if something interesting was gonna happen if I stopped escorting and move to the next system.

So anyway, do you recommend stopping these escorts if I still want to enjoy my game? I have gathered some 125k money by now.

I have no clue how you are completing the 5000 credit missions. Heavy gunships with missiles and vikings. I have never been able to beat these consistently (of course, I've never used an omni-particle or omni-TeV on these missions either).

Lol. Way to make a quick buck. 125k is just about enough to buy one good weapon, one good shield or 1 set of good armor for mid-late game. Probably not enough to tackle the last 8 or so systems, but by that time, you'll be so far ahead it won't matter. As for the bug part, I never did play the Korolov missions to the 5000s ever, but I think their might eventually be an upper cap. If you haven't done the Charon stuff yet, it's also a pretty good source of cash, but you've got enough already as it is...

Well maybe Korolov isn't, but those ships you destroy ARE, look at all of them!

Just make sure there aren't any Salvager Nomads around!

No no, you just make sure you have the nomad targeted. Once it reaches the other end of the wreck field, you kill it. Most convenient.

I tried that once. The nomad was truly stacked. Unfortunately my ship only has a cargo hold of 35, and there wasn't a station in the system that would buy damaged equipment, so making profit from that would take a loooooooong time.

Btw, can you kill nomads with impunity?

you can kill anything with impunity as long as you don't get caught

you are not punished in any way for killing a nomad, other than one less friendly ship in the system.

EDIT: the OTF goes SO FAST...

I don't know one of the best ways of getting great stuff is by killing stations on purpose those corp cruisers are just big piggy banks waiting to be busted open.
