Hi

Do Dwarg Master + 'tropies spawn out of the gate and directly attack you, like pirates, heliotropes, enforcers and others on the same level ..? I had a discussion with betel and Oddbob and they had another opinion about this than I experienced them to behave O_o

No- they fly around the system but if you get near the dwarg master, it will attack. It it stuns you, then they will all swarm in and kill you

I tested the dwarg now, but was not able to make clear conclusions. I first thougt that they get angry on me when I blow up their colony but they didn't do thisn one time. Another time they did. While their colony was still untouched it happend that some dwarg spawned out of a gate near or far from me and came to me and start circling around while shooting cycnodysts - in case they where on patrol, they changed their minds to chase me.
Initially I attacked the dwarg colonys because they caused the autopilot buckling (fps down) and the game was a bit slower at all. I have a P4 with 1.9ghz 512mb - that should be enough to play transcendence smoothly ?_?
I don't know if there where made any changes about the dwarg since 0.98b but they still cause quite a lag. I just found the reason for the lag this time : 4 colonies with 62 tropies swarming around ...

they/dwarg = dwarg master + zoanthropes

thanks for your ideas

Actually, they also spawn from the gate and will attack you if you are within range of them, otherwise, they'll attack you later on regardless.

Also, lag can be due to massive amounts of asteroids or nebula as well as massive Ferians combined, in the same system with Dwarg colonies.

Yes, Nebula and Ferian do this too ... but as ferians have been limited, they don't cost much game-speed anymore ...
Although, I don't have much problems with lags when I just wait a bit on a sun for some pirates. As 2 swarms plus some wind slavers and other apear there are soon 20+ ships more on the map, but this doesn't cause much lag. I think the dwarg may have or do something that needs more cpu-power :-/ ... so I'll have to destroy them again and face new spawning masters *tumbsdown* costs much of fun dealing with this strong, very long range, homing bolts -.-
