I'll normally use the plasma cannon (Kytryn Blaster) if no QAC can be found. Will also use autons as well as Scramble cubes and a Cnidocyst cannon. That combination works but it takes quite a while to kill the Iocrym.... it's that blasted Iocrym armor!

GnS, if you like the Iocrym repeller, give the Kytryn Blaster a try. Same damage rate, has longer range but is slightly slower at firing. It will still take down the Iocrym and it helps to enhance it 25% as well.

The teratons won't mug you if you are armed to the teeth. The ammo for the launcher is hard to find, but the teraton trading stations might generate some. Once you have some, you are going to need to duplicate at a teraton nest.

I say that "armed to the teeth" would be closer to a heavy ion blaster w/a Kytrn Blaster. But I think it has more to do with the average tech level of the devices on your ship than just the power level of your weapons.
