Does dark acid apply anything like a typical 'Poison' effect that affects shields or armor? I have a dark acid cannon in my hold, And i have no idea if its worth replacing my omni particle cannon for it.
Freighter is my ship..No mods or anything.
In addition..
Two systems past St K lies a marauder stronghold..Owing to the pleasant workings of the barbas ship ion cannons, I frequently end up adrift and blown to bits. They also have tripoli class destroyers to boot.Should i cut my losses and leave that spot alone?

The dark acid damage is just another damage type. It doesn't have any special effects, aside from that there are very few armors or shields you can get in the game that have resistance to it. I think you probably have a penitent cannon. I've never used it myself, but I seem to remember that it isn't that great. I'd stick with the omni-particle cannon, especially since you have the freighter.
As for the marauders, I'd go forward a bit to upgrade weapons and shields then come back and blow them up. They have a lot of low-mid level weapons, and you can sell them in bulk to get a decent profit. Sometimes you also find a quite valuable weapon as well.

Sadly, because it's a 'NotForSale' item, selling it in the credit economy will only get you a small fraction of it's base value.Thurgax wrote:.....It is indeed the penitant cannon..Mainly wondering about it so i could palm it off....
What version of Transcendence are you playing? In v1.06 or later, you can hang on to it 'til you get to a Teraton station and sell it for Rin. Unfortunately, in earlier versions of the game the Teratons only buy Level VII and higher weapons (the Penitent cannon is only Level IV).

Penitent cannon is an "Alien" item, which the Teratons should buy.

I'd forgotten about the "Alien" attribute.PM wrote:Penitent cannon is an "Alien" item, which the Teratons should buy.
... so if you can stand to carry it around that long, selling to the Teratons is truly the way to go. You can never have to many Rin.
