If you are in the St. Katherine's system, there is a chance to make a killing using buy and sell if of commodities:
NOTE: You need to have AT LEASt 15k credits to do that
1. First dock to the new archelogy of victoria (the big circlular station around the earth-like planet)>>> Select Indascent exports>>> buy all the items given (Except for rotten lucamas, they're of no use) and sell them off for a higher price in corporate enclave or Luxury hotels(more preferable according to my experience).
2. Now you would have around 20-25k credits. So now is the selling of items in bulk. Go to any manufacturing industries and buy all the items in the list blindly, and the cargo ship is the cherry on the cake in here. Buy all the items and straightaway sell it again to the hotels or the corporate enclaves. Maybe they will run out of money if you sell them too much but don't worry, you can sell it at the new archeology of victoria for a lower profit but it's totally worth it.
3. Now is the time for a yet higher profit. Just buy all the He3 fuel rods from any of the fuel stations( costs about 25 credits per unit). Sell it out for 50 credits per unit at the corporate ice farms so you basically have double the money if you spent all on buying and selling the fuel rods.
4. Don't Leave the corporate ice farm to start buying a new weapon from the money you just earned Just dock again, buy all the goods from there and sell it to corporate enclaves or the hotels to get yet more profit.
Hence by following these simple steps, you can easily earn around 30-35k if you have 15k when you begin. So, that's all, Happy earning
Get richer in St. Katherine's
If you sell items which corporate factories will buy then after a certain period of time they will produce more items for you to buy another good thing to sell to corp stations is medical items (or you can hoard them for CSC's and get plasma shield generators)

Factories will buy several kinds of raw materials, and then use these raw goods to produce more consumer goods. (As previously mentioned)
Many factories will buy different kinds of mineral ore as raw materials, and St. Katherine has several factories and an asteroid field...
So, if factories will buy ores (check them first), once the asteroid field is cleared of enemies, you can make good money here by mining, and make more cheap goods to sell from the factories.
Sell the other kinds of ore that the factories will not buy to corporate enclaves or the arcology.

Wow thats really unlucky. Usually when you get 6-7 it's possible to do 100k easily and that's really needed for post st. Kat part.
I didn't check the code but I wonder what's the probability of getting none
