I have a question about damage per sec.

I have been playing this game for quite awhile now but there is one thing I never really understood.
Does this mean that it does 7 hp per sec or 21 hp per sec?

The damage is damage per projectile postpended with a multiplier for weapons that fire multiple projectiles per trigger press. Damage per second is that value multiplied by the number of shots per second.
