SRS, LRS, map view, cockpit view, system map. Could someone explain which is which please.
Cockpit view is when you are looking down at your ship, other ships, stations, asteroids and suns, etc. That's the only one I'm sure of.
I was thinking the LRS is the faded circle in the top right of the screen in cockpit view but it could be the SRS.
Any others I've missed? TIA.
Jargon clarification please

SRS= Short Range Scanner. That's what you see on your screen - when you get a defective visual enhancement ROM, it disables the SRS.
LRS= Long Range Scanner. That's the circle in the top right. Nebulae interfere with the LRS.
Map View - You see this when you press "M".

When I read this post, I little suprised that relanat not know SRS and LRS.
I think this forum should have a post that listed some Acronym or Term that we commonly used with the meaning (Like WMD, CC, EP, UNID, or Vanilla) so new member will know and understand what we are talking about.

Kiting is when you keep an enemy ship at long range while firing on it, usually propelling yourself with a howitzer so you can keep firing on it. Since you can outrange a lot of enemies completely it can make things a bit easier than usual.relanat wrote:Also what is "kiting"? I've seen it in balance posts but dunno what it is.
