FAD, if you decrease the color count of the mask to 2, or 1-bit, you could really cut down on the file size...
let's see, the largest mask (in pixels) that I have is 858x1776, for a planet expansion pack, it is 187KB.

I have a ship mask is 256x5120, that one is 160k.
How large, in pixels, is your animation mask?

My mask is 368x1840 @1.9MB....well, it was until I did as you suggested by decreasing the color depth to 2. It's now 67k. Thanks D6! I forgot about doing that when making alpha's...been a while.

Now I'll prep the animated UFO for uploading....
