So what are the criteria for official mods? How do you get a mod cleared to be an official mod?

There are none really. In part because george has not even figured out how he's going to be handling the official mod UNID spaces, and in part because of what he has decided about them.
There are several categories of official mods:
1) Mods whos backgrounds are created by george and then the content filled in by the community. These are by far the most common ones.
2) Mods whos backgrounds are created collaboratively with george (This applies only to the ranx adventure extension)
3) The official patch mods
4) POSSIBLY mods that george hand-picks for official approval.

All official mods are considered in the canon region of the *anonosphere. (According to my post roughly dividing it up, that would place it in the alpha-canon region)

There are several wiki pages for it, but basically it needs to be George's general guidelines.

Those weren't guidelines, they were just a list of ideas. Unless he made some new articles I have not seen?
