Firstly, thank you all for pointing out the 1.08 version - it 'feels' much more complete than the 1.01.

However, since moving over to the new version I've seen some odd stuff that I just can't quite get my head round.
And I really don't want to start playing with xml files without clear instructions because I'm an oaf in that department :P
So I'm asking if anyone has any clues they might like to offer a poor confused little soul....

Anyway. First up: The Network
Sounds like a real fun place to go and play, only downside is that as far as my game is concerned it just doesn't exist.
I extracted the folder into 'extensions' same as everything else but no new options for creating a new game appear as expected.
Just for curiosity I tried out this, which works fine.

Mining Pack
Quite possibly the most awesome thing. Ever.
The single failing is that the fuel processor doesn't work as there is a set of parentheses missing somewhere according to the error message which appears when you try to use it.

And lastly, the one which bugs me by far the most.
Repair Droids
Everything works as advertised except when the droids hide away they should come back out and start repairing again after it's safe, only since moving to 1.08 they never come back out and spam the screen with 'back to work' messages.

Any ideas how to get things running right would be very welcome.
Thank you.

the network is an adventure, so you have to choose it in the screen just before you choose the ship.

I'll leave a message to TranscendenceGeek to let him know that Mining Pack has a bug.

Repair droids is an old mod (0.99c), so I'm not too surprised to learn that it has some problems in the latest versions. We'll see, maybe Bobby might update it soon :D However I understand that there is a 1.0 version of this mod, are you using the right version ?

That's the thing with the Network, there is no option to choose such an adventure.
I have the original Domina & Oracus I, along with Contact which I installed earlier, no sign of The Network anywhere.
Installing it is just a matter of dropping the whole folder from the zip into extensions, right?

Pretty sure I have the right half of the droids installed, the author wrote pretty clear instructions as to what goes where for what version.
I do hope they get updated though, I love those little things even if they are a complete pain to find

Another thing that's puzzled me somewhat.
Even though I've freed dozens of slaves via the temple, I don't seem to have access to any of Domina's powers.
I installed the timer fix mod but still nothing, not even in a new game.
Any clues?

The timer fix is for an old version. You don't need it for 1.08d. Did you contemplate at the Sister's?

Okay. I've got rid of the timer fix, and everything seems to be working as it should.
Thank you kindly.

Still can't get the Network running though.
The debug says it's being loaded, it just doesn't appear on the adventure selection.

Can you take desktop video?
I'm just making sure, but try the right/left arrow keys on the adventure selection (the one that says Stars of the Pilgrim with the big stargate).
Can we see dbglog?
Do other adventures work? (try something like Hell's Trinity or BattleZone)

Video is not something I can do I'm afraid.
The left/right selection arrows highlight on mouseover, and installing Hell's Trinity confirms that they do indeed work.
I was intending to post the last entry of the debug file as requested, but instead of cluttering the forum with dross a bit of swapping about revealed the cause:
It clashes somehow with this mod.

One problem solved, and another steps up.

Btw, we have a pastebin, it's paste.neurohack.com IIRC.

Okay.
Network is full of fun, but doesn't seem to like being re-loaded from a .sav
Got this in the debug:

08/12/2012 20:45:53 PC-5747.sav: System 36: 1 undefined object reference:
Reference: 154097
Address: 840cd80

What version are you using? 1.08b-d had savegame corruption issues; use 1.08e which fixes that.

And thanks guys.

btw, 1.08b/c/d savegames are incompatible with 1.08e/f (1.08f is the latest version now, it was a hotpatch for 1.08e)

Not that it seems to matter, as I can't get either e or f to even start.
Something about a duplicate UNID which comes up if any mods at all are present.

The 800 new weapons mod is a definite conflict, as is the mining pack.
Then it threw out: modules/itemptypes.xml UNID e195f02a
Which completely threw me....

Check Weapons Labs for the UNID. You might have to redownload it.
