In soundtrack types, there's a <Segments> element where the track is divided into sections - I think this defines where to start/stop the track when you enter/leave battle.
I'm not too sure what unit is being used though. Are the segments measured in ticks or something else?

I've looked at the source (Mammoth) and I think I found out how its counted.
A value of "10000" translates to 10 seconds, or "1000" for 1 second.
