i got an email today saying i had a Private Message here so i logged on and there was no new message in my inbox, any thoughts?

that would need some really good timing cause now that i think about it i did get the popup box saying i had one but it still doesnt show up in my inbox

You only get the box when you load up a page after you have recieved a message.
Also PHPBB2 has a weird habbit of saying things are read/unread even though they are not... You didn't delete the messages yet, have you?
