Well, they've got to 3.5 TeV, with two beams at the same time. I know they've got plans to get up to ~7 TeV in the end.....so who knows? We could be looking at the TeV 9 prototype. Albiet a very, very, very, very, very, VERY much larger version thereof.

Well, this isn't a linear accelerator, so we can determine two things with Really Bad Logic.


1. There are going to be a LOT of research agencies with the same kind of accelerator in the future, as basic demonstration tool for students (this IS the future after all)

2. They all go bust, and sell their stuff to weapons dealers, who use the ACME Weaponisation Kit (TM) on them and sell them.

All those energies are applied per beam! Meaning when the beams reach 3,5 TeV the collisions will have 7 TeV because they go in opposite directions and collide.

THE LHC though is designed for 7 TeV per beam meaning collisions with 14 TeV

Also it really depends on what they fire. The 14 TeV collisions are reached with single protons and if I recall corectly they will also fire lead atoms at each other which will give over 500 TeV per beam due to their greater atomic weight.

I really hope they find the Higgs boson and are finally able to complete the grand unified field theory with all 4 forces. This would be the first step to gravity induction theory which could realistically be demonstrated with the next few decades.

I would also be very interested to see if they can map out any additional dimensions and finally put M-theory to the test.

Darkmatter is the odds-on favorite for the first new discovery at 11:10 odds.

I just saw that they have completed collision tests of two 3.5 TeV beam.

well Hawking bet 50£ on NOT to find the Higgs Boson, but Higgs himself and Hawking are picking each other in the last 2 years on their respective theories. :lol:

I am of the opinion that "Dark Matter" will never be discovered because it doesn't exist. The missing matter the scientists swear is out there is partly just regular matter that doesn't glow (i.e. rogue planets, unlit nebulae, and other space dust/debris) and partially because our physics is incomplete when it comes to gravity and multiple dimensions.

Once a GUT is completed, the need for Dark Matter to explain certain movements should be negated.
