My only thing with Hermes is that the icon for "new post" when you are reading a thread is far too small.
That's about it though.

As per a requirest over IRC, I set Hermes Gray as the default theme, and in doing so set all accounts to use it, but you can change your account back to using whatever it is you wanted to use.


Also , I think it would be nice to have a mobile-compatible theme.

I use my smartphone to check the forums often and I reall would like a mobile theme. Strip away all the pretty graphics and just have it really simple and plain to use on a mobile.

I'm also in favor of light text over dark background themes. Hermes gray I find a bit bland and CA Black seems more "game style" to me (especially icons), however I do have some suggestions for font colors:

the CA colors now are (text colored here approximately):
Commands: Light blue / Gold
Sticky: Gold
Thread: Gold
Username: Gold
Tinker: Blue
Moderator: Dark red
Global mod: Green

With both CA and Hermes, moderator names are illegible (should be a lighter red), tinker blue is barely legible (go for cyan?) and Global mod green doesn't stand out as much as that rank would imply (green?).

I'd also suggest Sticky subjects to be displayed in lighter yellow, or better yet to display regular topics lighter grey (similar to Hermes) so there's a clean division on the board layout.
The regular usernames could be a different color from thread topics, maybe they should be green and mods and global mods in the red spectrum?

Could these colors be modified from within the user control panel, or are the themes always preset?

[edit] Also, I now find that URLs could do with a different color than Gold, underline

All of these things can be fixed if we decide to go with this as our base theme. I would be happy to set up a local version and begin tweaking it. However, we would need to get the approval of George, and it would like to know that it would not be duplicate effort. I am looking at you Periculi. Are you working on this as well?

Its not because of the themes - I did this manually via the group controlls. I found them too bright.

I think it's always been this size. It's not horizontally stretching the information pane in the Hermes Grey so I'm not sure why it's a problem. That is the default, isn't it?

It may be resize blurring. It's actually 136x148 because I originally made it for a forum with a 150 px limit.

Is it at all possible to hide the search engine bots?

I keep thinking "oh there is a lot of users online", only to realise they are bots. It's annoying.

Edit - can't remember where the setting for that is. I'll look it up tomorrow.


Also: The spiders should use a minimalist theme, so that way they don't suck up bandwidth.
