This sounds like a great plugin. I'll talk to the guys on IRC and see if it's installed.

Structured Data plugin

Post by WillyTheSquid » Wed Mar 07, 2012 12:02 am

Hi, fellow modders! Should I wait until that plugin is installed before I start adding links to other pages on the wiki?

Another question: if any of you have favorite mods (would love to hear your reasons as to WHY you love them), please let me know so I can add them to the eventual updated "recommended mods" section :)

You should just edit them. There was supposed to be a namespace restructuring as well, but I'm not sure what happened to that.

Our focus right now should be a strong cohesive wiki that provides all the goodies needs to turn a newb into a Phobos hunting menace, so I advise quick edits and superb display of easy to understand info. To see what I mean, look at the buildcraft and minecraft wikis. They are stuctured soundly, and answer all the questions a player may have and answer the questions a player will have, something I definitely want for the T wiki.

I believe we will being finally updating the namespaces this week along with updating the wiki, I it should be possible to add that plugin then assuming it is approved.

I noticed that lines 1020 to 1031 on this gist did not make the cut. I was not aware that not declaring where they would go would delete them, as they did not need to move. Is there a way to recover them?

Also, there are several duplicate namespaces (like ships and ship).
Here is a list:
commmunity (3 m's)
wiki (one under community and one as a main namespace)
Sandbox (under community and as a main)
ships and ship under game
function and functions under modding

How strange, i removed those from being processed specifically since they did not need to be moved, and yes there are backups of those files so we can move them back. If you notice any others let me know.

Those duplicate folders were not removed since they were directories, but i let George know and they should be removed except for wiki/ which is used internally by dokuwiki

I have a suggestion to make it easier to navigate items. Maybe it would be a good idea to move the list-type pages (armor, fuel, usables, etc) to game/items/categories/ or game/item_types/ or something. That way, they wouldn't be lost inside of the really long list of individual items.

Also, I'd like to add pages for stations. What namespace would they go under?

Really, how odd, I know I saw that page somewhere?
Was this it? http://wiki.neurohack.com/transcendence ... ading_post

Also with categorization of the ships, I intended to do that originally however the amount of work to get every ship classified in the wiki was quite a lot of work and a general index is fine, we can always make a specific group in the ship main page http://wiki.neurohack.com/transcendence/wiki/game/ships

Sure, had to dig around a bit, some of the things I manually moved because I never included the links in the updater ( too new ) and might be moved in the wrong spots. :(

Ok, I think the same thing happened to all the pages on the ship database.
Just to note, the pages that are missing are factions pages that links to all the ships of the faction, not the ship pages themselves.

I also noticed that the playground link is broken (the one at the top when you choose to edit).

It refused to be fixed so I removed it. We did not use it and it was not providing documentation so it seemed to be the best at that time.
