I am pleased to announce an early release 'proof of concept' for a Star Network mapping device.

Mod on Xelerus.

Drop in your Extensions folder and it's installed!

Take the customary Periculi Innovations Corporation test-wolfen out for a spin in Eridani to play with the 3 new toys included.

The Cartography Computer- using this allow you to access a virtual terminal that contains data regarding the known star network.

The Cartography Module- before the Carto-Compy can be used, you must load the program into it- simple to do: use the Module program First!

The Cartography Scanner- This device charts your current system location in the gate network and allow you to view it.

At this point in time only the systems overview panel is filtering for 'known' systems- the GateWalker screen will allow you to view ALL the systems in the topology. You can set the navigation overview panel to show everything at the start of the game by opening the Mod in a text editor finding ";configure show all at start" in the globals section (the map initialization function to be precise) and switching "unknown" to "known". This will allow the device to show you all the systems in the topo before you actually scan them with the carto scanner.

This is intended as a proof of concept mod- it goes with the collection of proofs I have been throwing out lately very well.

My next few projects will involve making the mods I have recently released much more robust for actual game play. For the Net Mapper I plan on adding a few more filters -"known" systems only show up, "visited" status indicated, map data available from vendors;
And the best part (which is working but not quite done..) will be the Star System flagging (in 8 colors!) with custom text and the Star Log- a way to keep some small custom notes about the systems you have visited to help keep track of everything. These features will make the network mapper a very useful tool!

Of course, this is a side project compared to what is in the works here at Periculi Innovations:

Are you ready for System26?

No?

Well, get ready!

What do you think about the endless stream of spawns ?

What about modding wandering spawns which dont attack the player directly ?

I admit I have hitherto not tried out the huge topo mod. Once I finish some of my mods and try out the ship randomization thingy, I will enter the huge stone soup mod, properly armed for all that lies ahead (perhaps not, especially if I throw my hard mod in there, and a few other mods  ).

I've used the random topo, and this sure will come in handy :D

You can throw the SS topo out!

System26 is near.

Oh, and Wolfy- this mapper only works for the Vanilla topology.
