 Schil Capital Ship
Look nice? No? Fine. But there's going to be a lot of code behind it. I need some neat ideas, some things that have never been done before. Any suggestions?

use a fullsize image- the forum will automatically scale it down. Don't use thumbnails- they don't work on this board.

I have a suggestion!
Explain a little more what you are getting at for this here *ugly picture.
Are you hoping for someone to be inspired by this and give you some insight into what to do with it?
How is this in any way related to your topic title?
Are you trying to incorporate a ping-pong-esque game into transcendence?
What kind of code? Like, perhaps, "I'm a secret agent so figure it out, it's a secret message to my superiors" code?
Are you from another galaxy?
Do you ever have laser beams shoot out your eyeballs? If so, which one? Or both, perhaps?
*meant in the kindest way possible.

 Re: Schil Capital Ship
ow!
some things that have not been done before
1. give it a mini-jumpdrive and code to make the ship chase you/run away from you using the jumpdrive
2. make it a carrier. As it is now, it seems that there are no serious ship mods that spawn ships from other ships.

It'll be back in Trans-X2 though (thank's to perculi's hosting)

Exactly what do you mean by Ping Pong? I see no connection between my ship (that image IS the ship) and ping poong. As for the last two questions... Those are personal questions, and the laser beams shoot out of my left index finger.
Anyway, I was basicaly putting up the best art I had for a Stephinian Capital Ship, which will of course be more powerfull than the HyperDestoyer. What I meant by having lots of code is that I was going to have it be a very special playership that does things like fly itself in autopilot (that's an example pepole) or spawn other ships (little landing pods maybe?). What I need the most are ideas, and a way to change the playerhship. Ship changing might be something only George can do, but I'll take what I can get.
Anyway, Ideas, and possibly some better artwork.

I have tried to target the playership with shpOrders and they don't work, so setting up some kind of fancy controls would be problematic at best. Those orange things on the side look like pong (video game style) paddles to me.
You can create new playerships easily, with some practice.
Changing the playership graphic in-game is impossible to date. Switching ships is also impossible to date.
Why does everyone always want to make good things for the players that are beyond hypermegaomnipowerful? Why not try to create an integration with the game storyline and settings that improves the challenge?
here's an idea- can you come up with a new line of technology that is interesting and balanced for the entire course of the game? Perhaps include some types of storyline and mission interaction for the other playerships to fringe benefit from, while making a core progression path for your particular ship.
You could probably make use of the little used damage types such as nano for a base to create the new weapons/armor/shield technology around. Tie it into the luminous and expand some plotlines in that direction. And ask Wolfy, OddBob, dvlenk and Bobby for some ship making tips, they do a lot of that (or have in the past).

for ship changing, George would have to rewrite parts of the main code apparently...

to change the playership graphic in-game would probably be enough to change ships with Periculi's (or was it betel's) device blockers and improvement devices et al.

I tried it. In many many different ways. George has clearly explained that this is not possible, but may be in the future.

I know of a way to get it to work, but it's a bit buggy (your graphic won't alwayse line up correctly- it can be perendicular or even backwords...) and thus ends up appearing very stupid.

You are going to have to back that up with evidence, Wolfy. I think I know what you are attempting, and I doubt it would work. Do show us this method of yours, however. In a new thread.
