My personal thanks to Wolfy, for helping me with the registration.

Welcome to the Transcendence Forums, Rustman! I'm Hatsuya, from the Philippines (though that name is very significant on one of my other works) :3

Anyways, welcome to the community? Have you tried making any mods yet?

Well, nice to meet you all :)

Ttech - I'm currently in Numerianus. It's my first playthrough (yep, a newb so giant that I don;t even know if it's far or not ;) ), and I fell in love with this game :) I use v 1.01 of the game.

Hatsuya - thanks, and hello from Poland :)

Wolfy - nope, no mods - as I am a newb in Transcendence, and unforunately know nothing about modding... In the future - who knows.

Hard thing about the system names is we can only tell how far you are based on a few system names - St. Katherine Star System, Point Juno, Endari. :D

I think I'm missing a couple, but those are all the major/static nodes IIRC (the ones that always appear in every game).

After Sanctuary, before Jiang's Star (at least I don't remember the second one). I have just discovered Howtizer MK III and am thrilled about the ease with which I can kick some Sung ass :D BTW, it's very nice how the game is (uptill now) intuitive and relatively easy, while at the same time being challenging and fun.

Edit:

As far as the system and how far I am are concerned, in this Numenorian System I found the first CSC ship, Arctica.

Also, CSC's are randomly placed, just like nearly everything in the game ;)

Welcome to the forums Rustman!

Don't worry if you're a newb to the game -- we have a special forum for that - Beginner's Luck. Don't be afraid to ask questions about the game or modding.

We're all playing a version of the game that hasn't been publically released yet -- 1.04.
The thread is here: Version 1.04

I hope your time on the forums will be enjoyable. :D

Numerianus, eh?

Spoiler:
You are 10 to 12 systems from the end. 10 if you don't get any of the optional systems and 12 if get all the optional ones.

Er, if you are taking about the silly 5 point typeface that I used, then sorry. But if not, here's an explanation

Numerianus can appear as a name for the Level 6 system "C8". There is a 25% chance that system C8 will be named Numerianus. And every game will have a system C8. Here's an excrept from Transcendence.xml

Code: Select all

		<!-- LEVEL VI -->

		<Node ID="C8">
			<System
					level=			"6"
					attributes=		"ungoverned"
					variant=		"ungoverned"
					>
				<Table>
					<System chance="17" name="Zethus"		UNID="&ssEarthSpaceBinary;"/>
					<System chance="8"  name="Nobunaga"	UNID="&ssEarthSpaceStandard;"/>
					<System chance="20" name="Galgaliel"	UNID="&ssEarthSpaceNebulae;"/>
					<System chance="5"  name="Cinder"		UNID="&ssEarthSpaceRedDwarf;"/>
					<System chance="25" name="Numerianus"	UNID="&ssEarthSpaceAsteroids;"/>
					<System chance="20" name="Exael"		UNID="&ssEarthSpaceVolcanic;"/>
					<System chance="5"  name="Alembra"	UNID="&ssEarthSpaceDesert;"/>
				</Table>
			</System>

			<StarGates>
				<StarGate Name="Inbound" DestID="[Prev]" DestGate="Outbound"/>
				<Table>
					<StarGate chance="50" Name="Outbound" DestID="C8A" DestGate="Inbound"/>
					<StarGate chance="50" Name="Outbound" DestID="C9" DestGate="Inbound"/>
				</Table>
			</StarGates>
		</Node>
Also, it is apparent that the outbound gate in C8 can lead to either C8A or C9 and there's a 50% chance for each.
Here's the code for system C8A

Code: Select all

		<Node ID="C8A">
			<System
					level=				"6"
					attributes=			"ungoverned"
					variant=			"ungoverned"
					>
				<Table>
					<System chance="50" name="Maharashtra" UNID="&ssEarthSpaceNebulae;"/>
					<System chance="50" name="Bhutihan"	UNID="&ssEarthSpaceVolcanic;"/>
				</Table>
			</System>

			<StarGates>
				<StarGate Name="Inbound" DestID="[Prev]" DestGate="Outbound"/>
				<StarGate Name="Outbound" DestID="C9" DestGate="Inbound"/>
			</StarGates>
		</Node>
Here, we can see that C8A will always lead to C9. This effectively makes C8A RNG based system --- there's a 50% chance you will get it and there is a 50% chance that you won't. This is what I meant by an "optional system". I'll draw a small map of the remaining systems.
C8 C8A C9 A1 A2 EC A3 A3A PJ A5 A6 A7 G1 G2

Code: Select all

C8
|\
| C8A
|/
C9
|
A1
|
A2
|
EC
|
A3
|\
| A3A
|/
PJ
|
A5
|
A6
|
A7
|
G1
|
G2
G2 is Heretic

Aaaand, it turns out I can't count :oops:
The minimum number of systems left is 11 and the maximum is 13.
