Just say it's posible or not, beacause it can be a great mini Transcendence. !!!
Flying and shooting, nothing more. And of course selection next airship, when you are destroyed.

*some* applications (such as Multimedia Fusion and other Game Makers and such) have the ability to make a screen saver in which pressing a key does not end it. However, the point of a screensaver is that it pops up on screen and dissappears the minute you want it gone.

For instance:
Me: Oh, I'll just show you something on my PC.
Friend: cool screensaver dude. Are those ships like blowing eachother up?
Me: Yeah, hold on I'll just press a button and it will go away. .... Oh wait. I forgot. I have to go through three solar systems and then defeat a boss ships to unlock my own computer. Hold on a minute.
Friend: That sucks man.
See my point? 8-)

Besides, why would you want to play a screensaver Transcendence when you could play the real version? ;)

*I did want a mobile version of Transcendence though but I don't think that will come to be. :( *

A mobile version? There is no way you could play T effectively on a screen resolution that small (or with the limited interface that they provide)

So forget that's is a screensaver. Just mod game and make it like screensaver, but it will still the game no SC :!:

So like an arcade version? I think there's a battle arena adventure mod on Xelerus like that.

There is BattleZone... I have not tested it on 1.05 though, but it should work fine in 1.01

A tablet then? -_-

Still the trouble occurs of porting all the code into Android, or iOS etc.

I could never get the hang of on screen keyboards. Keyboards are meant to be flat. If they were meant to be vertical they would be called keypanels. I do like the idea of an arcade though, rather than a storyline you get mindless, ceaseless violence! :twisted:

Transcendence is not designed for mobile devices, you rely heavily on a keyboard to navigate, until such time that we can setup controls to handle point clicks and similar there will be no mobile such version. Especially on phones, it would essentially be a different game. :P

I know that. Now I don't want to make a mobile version but I want to make a small transcendence for normal computers.
Just something like mini TC. Also for the computer ! :!:

alterecco created a miniature transcendence - just the basics. Not sure how fun it would be, but for the most part its graphics that are taking up the space and the game needs the graphics.

Nah! Graphics, shmaphics!

Take Trans back to it's roguelike roots -- remove all graphics and use LETTERS AND SYMBOLS! :D

(ever heard off Ascii Sector? It's like Transcendence but without graphics, a rougelike engine, seriously addictive gameplay, and the ability to walk around on planets, perform assination missions and all sorts of stuff!)

Technically, "C" is Centauri, but it is an enemy, so good work! :D

Also, % was a wreckage (it is food or corpse in most roguelikes). ;)
