Well, that would work if I wanted a plain vanilla game. But doesnt help if I forget to do this before starting a new game. I doubt that an unused custom playership with no AI section has any influence on bugs like the one above, but I should have made sure to create a game with no extensions. If the game would display all extensions that will be active in that future game I could just choose the ones I want an leave all others in the extension folder.
The point is: There are many good and some outstanding extensions out there (custom ships, station graphics, mining equipment ...) and I like to try them out. Moving a dozen files and folders around before starting a new game is just not what I would expect.
Ill just want to keep my favorite extensions in a pool (the extensions folder) and pick the ones I want to activate when starting a new game.

I'm not disagreeing that being able to choose which will be active via menu is a good idea- it's a wonderful one- just trying to make a suggestion to how you could possibly fix it.

Yes, and nil if it is not there. So, if you don't need the position, just check for a non-nil value. Eg:TranscendentGeek wrote:Yeah but doesn't that return the position of the word in the string?alterecco wrote:we have that already. 'find' is what you are looking for :)
Code: Select all
(if (find "this is a string" "string") (do something))
The feature to have more than one savegame for a player name is really handy, thanks for that! Now I dont have to do ugly things like append an "_", or "-1", "-2", ... to the player name.
One thing that is missing in my opinion is a delete button - or the file name displayed in the "load game" screen. That would help when cleaning up old saves.
EDIT: Oops, found it - its late again and my reading sill are already asleep.

Has anyone else mentioned issues with the inability to load a saved game if you have no internet connection at the time? You may have to start the game once you are already logged in. Then if you disable your internet connection it reports no save games are available until you restore the internet connection and log in.
I wouldn't want the lack of internet to prevent me from playing a local save game.

Hmmm, Im having an issue posting highscores:
Trying to submit a highscore entry for the attached savegame caused Transcendence to crash. No log message, but "Transcendence is no longer working".
OS is Win7 Pro, 64 bits.
And my score didnt get submitted.
Attached .wer file in case this is useful to George.

That does work for me. I started Trans, logged in, started a new game, saved, disabled the networking adapter in windows and tried to load a game. It just worked.inability to load a saved game if you have no internet connection

Sometimes you gotta shut down trans via ctrl-alt-del because it's borking up (either a mod, or something else isn't playing nice in the background). Having that be counted as 'resurrected' is not cool. ;_;

Has anything changed in 1.08b regarding the construction of playership mods? I am updating my playership modpack, and was attempting to test them in the new version, but they will not show up in the ship list.
This is probably not 1.08b-specific, but I noticed that while switching weapons there is a power peak even if there is no other weapon to switch to (only 1 gun/beam/... type weapon besides launcher(s) is installed).

Probably I discovered a bug in this release - I've beaten the game (left human space) but my hiscore entry wasn't added to neither global nor local high score list.

While I was doing my latest Adventure .xml I noticed a " problem " with the Armor Dealer and installing things :
I actually made the ones in the adventure separate the installs to custom because it was such a problem for me but because " it is an adventure " I could not blame the game for having a bug.
However, it did start a feature in the adventure about Armor and helped solve a problem I had with keeping the player from running off with the Militia cash cards so the " bug " actually helped and I am happy it was not something caused by playing adventures, but a real bug that others found.
===========
However the one thing I did find that persists and maybe it is just me : but a station selling multiples of an item will not offer to install the item if you only buy one........ this is not always the case or I have not hit it often enough but I know it is there.
Ex: buy one of 2 weapons at arms dealer, have to find a place to install it or buy 1 then go back to buy the last one so you can get one installed .
==========
Tamagoyaki : considering my high score was not as high as yours....I like the bug you found LOL but I am amazed your score was so high in such a short time : maybe because my ship is slow and I mine alot... but I had 45128 11 hours in ( but I had not done the Arena because to me it is a financial drain better left for back tracking after I get a good amount of credits If I did not by the time I got to that system.)

Another thing: There is an issues with loading saved games when not signed in. Just to get this clear: The user is supposed to be able to play games created when "signed in" when he is "offline" too, is that right?
When I start Transcendence and click "load game" right away - even before I got signed in (I enabled automatic sign in, but I wont wait in this case till this happens), I get this situation:
The only game available is an old save created way before 1.08, but was successfully loaded/saved with 1.08.
If I then return to the main screen and wait till Im signed in I get:
All games are magically there again.
EDIT: Also tried manually signing out before attempting to load a game. That also results in only games being available which were created while "offline" or before 1.08.
