I have yet to finish Anton's storyline because his pathing is so quirky. This is over 8 games now, with the latest tested in beta 4. It happens at every mission, but ironically most often at the one where it says, "you decide to wait for Anton and Kate."
I've had him start moving in the opposite direction to the target... and head off into interplanetary space. I've had him sweep past the target... then head off into space. Once, he never even moved. He just twitched between two headings (the target was behind him in that game). Kate doesn't seem to have these problems, and yet she leaves from similar distances.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Anton Nasar's pathing

Hm, so it seems that the twitching bug resurfaces again. (Someone else had gotten that on IRC - I think it might have been Adran, I'm not sure.)

Oh, there's only supposed to be one staging platform? I've seen one, two, and three in various games (most of which in beta 3).

I have not yet been able to reproduce this, which is annoying, since it seems to be a common problem.
Here are some things I've heard about the bug. If you can corroborate, contradict, or expand, I'd like to hear it:
1. This happens to Anton, but not Kate.
2. The problem fixes itself after you save and reload (if someone has a save file that exhibits the problem on load, please let me know).
3. It happens in every mission (is there any one mission where it is most common)?
4. Anton eventually reaches the destination, but usually goes on a grand tour first. (Are there cases where Anton never returns?)
5. Anton is generally moving, though slowly.
Any additional clues would help--and a reproducible scenario would help most of all.
Thanks!

1) I've only seen it for Anton, but that's not necessarily definitive
2) Yeah, I think a reload fixes it. Either that or he goes the wrong way until the target is destroyed (which is generally the first I notice). I have a save while he's out in the middle of nowhere, but what we really need is a save beforehand...
3) I tend to see him go maybe 20-30 ls too far in the pirate-chimera mission, but its most pronounced in Anaxas- I have two playthroughs where he has ended at the edge of the system in the opposite direction to where he should be.
4) Not sure. It may be that he keeps going insane until a reload (see 2) but I haven't waited that long
5) He stops in the pirate-chimera glitch, but not sure about Anaxas

Not quite the same, but I have a save where Anton was drifting off into space before triggering the mission. He seemed to keep drifting after reload, and only stopped when I left the system for a sec.
Also, after Gunsan, I never managed to find Kate again, so I had to just leave the area which cleared out the mission stuff.
