I had done Contact for 1.0-1.01 to bring the Dall Sphere Mission to those players at the time.
However, I recently took it off of xelerus thinking I should update it .....

The thing is..the Dall Sphere is now part of the Official experience ( which is awesome )
However, it leaves me with a gaping hole in the Bulkhead of exactly where Contact should be going to "show-case and push" ( which is what UNID holders are really doing ) ....

So, as it stands I do have much of what was Contact updated..was thinking of consolidating it with Snow & Ice
( which I wanted to update and maybe improve )

for those that don't know....I live in Alaska, While I am not an Eskimo I always found their language very interesting because it's not simply words..as much as lexemes.

in reality there are about 31 actual words for snow if you're hunting actual words.... but to do that you have to track them through the variations of the language. However, when you add the primary lexemes, it pushes the # over 100, then add language, location, temperature : you are talking of 1K + ways of meaning what you say.

Snow & Ice was meant to show case these words and give the players something "different" , something only they can share with the universe...a personal adventure with an otherwise alien outlook on the worlds that surround us.

or at least it sounded good when I first wrote up the idea.

Well, so far I have mixed both Contact & the Auviq..not that I found much of Contact interesting since it was so outdated ( and quickly ) by the changes in the Game Universe.

I did find something I thought was Very Awesome : an old Armor : CarbonFiberShell "0x09000002".
I redeployed this Armor and updated it.
However, it is a pretty strong Armor on an NPC ( and sort of heavy ) - and I kind of restored a an old ship just to wear the armor.... the Good News is, you are welcome to kill the ship :)

Also I restored another ship, abit stronger and more of a "hard hitter" for Eridani, but it actually has a mission : to start trouble.
The Player really isn't the ship's target, since it's an escort , so it's not exactly going to attack the player with a focus ( but you might still get shot at ).
To offset the fact that the Player, in Eridani, is still pretty weak, the weapon placement on this "Heavy Hitter" should reduce the damage to the player if they are slow to get out of the way.
( hint, don't get in front of it ) :) LOL

Right now I am kind of at a block since I don't think I want to do any of the things from the past because I don't think they would be as great today as I thought they should have been back when I wrote them.

So, I am trying to sort out a mission...not entirely sure how it will go because I know if I beef up defenses of the target I will most likely cross back to one of my very bad ideas ( most of my bad ideas are because I forget I have a pretty strong test ship and don't realize that somethings would simply kill the player - which is no fun... unless I meant to kill them).

Ok : so maybe I did regress ......
Right now I got some action : station destroying action...

And I actually have a WORKING respawn ( I stopped work on my own respawning once RPC
created Dynamic Systems : which totally made it clear all my ideas are bad :) )

However, I don't know if any of it will actually stay in the .xml : I think I just went on with it to side track and tinker with other ideas and things....

Like the "Centauri IAV" ( that ship using the Carbon Fiber armor ) And the "Centauri Auton" ( that Hard Hitter I mentioned )
Anyway :
I think I got the Auton Sorted out - it has to fly before I can move on.
I think the IAV is doing great ....it actually took on 4 Corsairs & a Viking ...but I know it doesn't often have enough luck to last more then a few minutes once somebody shoots a missile ..

The IAV & Auton were created not just to return the ship images to the game but to beef up
the Centauri since the Command Ship was (usually ) over-powered & the Heavy Raiders are a let down against other NPCs.

both the IAV & Auton ( together ) give the Centauri something of a combat power near a
Viking-II. Even with the current twin Akans on the Auton : it's mostly flash and Awwww.

Anyway, I want to go ahead and get the Auton to fly with the new edits...I think using the station destroying action will be great for the testing ( which is probably why I did it in the first place
since the fighting, station destroying & respawning would only get in the way of missions : which is something I learned playing DySys )

okzzzzz :) yes!! I actually have a working extension that almost seems logical.....

I did pull out that side tracking stuff I put in there, but for testing it was good.

Eridani is a almost always altered in my .xml because of mining and the fact that I like to set out a station for testing among the belts : the one thing I never liked about Dock Screens is that you never actually get one that looks half as good as the originals ...

I did come up on a few things I found annoying : such as Station HP.
This was started by the Mining Station always loosing the fight - when it should not since it is a Rock and supposedly a MultiHull station .......

I noticed that StartOn has 1K HP but a Mining station has less then half that and the Mining station is a ROCK .... Rocks have been used against Tanks on Earth, Rocks have properties that influence the effect and impact of weapons : While Stations can use Armor stronger then rocks, Rocks don't have regular interval seams held together by cheap, less effective material.
So, I increased the station HP of some stations in the .xml based on the size of the station as compared to StartOn as well as if it was a Rock or not.

the result so far is that even the Charon outposts are stronger in terms of HP but their resistance to weapons isn't the HP, it's what they are made of ( in theory ).

I do have to go back and sort them again to make sure they aren't over powered : but the one item I found interesting was the Ranx Fortress had twice the HP of StartOn and it's size isn't so big.

it would be helpful to get a better idea of some stations : say, assume they are built in sections or modules ; at least 4 for the small ones : MultiHull = at least 2 shells : so double the Armor
double the Armor is double the Armor HP of the station...??
well, it will take a few minutes to look at, to refine the idea. that's for sure.

The Auviq & Contact Mix has seen alot of things kicked to the curb because I don't see them as useful to the extension ... it's amazing how time & the Awesomeness of the Transcendence Universe has changed my views.

However...I am always good for a very bad idea ....so I don't think I will miss a chance to do something stupid :)
