Awesome job, George! Been following since my early college days and this certainly has come very far. One really selfish request though. Can you possibly make the desktops in HD (1920 x 1080/1200)? It's a lot to ask, but I'm sure I'm not the only person who's running a widescreen LCD.

my mistake. just thought it was an out of the blue insult on what i considered a fairly good modding attempt. makes it seem like other people's work isn't considered good enough for some people's standards. disregard then.

i'm not seeing your solution to the problem, atarlost. upload a reasonable alternative and maybe you'll have the credentials to criticize.

it's kind of robust as it is. just change the sizing, intensity and color to fit your specification. as a lightning bolt, i think it works fine.

maybe i've never upped a omni-ion to +150, but that's the only way i play with the IM90 and at that power, the spread beams make HUGE difference. i can take down a phobos within 20 seconds with a full IM90 and can actually kill the iocrym with it at a reasonable pace. that triple damage vs. the omni...

it sounds like you put a lot more work into this than i did. i literally made this playership in about 10 minutes. feel free to use any of the coding for your own usage and good luck with that dockscreen and carrier thing. it sounds great. come the time when your mods are ready, you can use my basis...

CSC

Have ungodly amounts of patience and stupid amounts of free time? I present to you the CSC playership. Not really sure if it's been done before (if it had, i'm sorry, I just had this epiphany today). It has everything you love (and hate) about the star carrier. Complete with 5000 tons of cargo space...

paint.net is great too for almost everything i need to do. most of the heavy rendering is done in a 3d program and i'd rather spend the money there than on a touch up details. no matter how good a program is though, it's a matter of how well you know how to use it. :)

i agree with the military part. with the new fortress code, you can't even do missions for the fortress unless you have an ID. i can't remember where else you can even get a military ID, but it's an absolutely essential thing to have just about at St. Ks and beyond.

i never really thought about patch spiders that way.. a good counter i'm finding now is to go with octocarbide, which is cheaper and more readily available than heavy ithalium, and has ion damage immunity. it's not as beefy as ithalium, but it's enough. the taikon sheilds take care of most thermo da...
