I consider using it with an EI500 armed with an omni-weapon. If you need inertia while traveling, turn the engine off. I would not use it with fast and agile gunships though.

I mentioned this in another thread, but how about a cyberdeck that hijacks AI controlled ships, either temporarily or permanently. The player who thinks they will become invincible by purchasing and arming additional playerships will get the surprise of his life when one or more of his superships tu...

I am ambivalent about this. The gamer in me says "Yes! Yes! Military tagged reactors are a pain!" On the other hand, within the game world, it makes sense for reactors that can power military-grade items be military only. Then again, this would mean everyone in the Outer Realm would need a military ...

My point is when I play games, I play to win. Fun equals winning, and winning equals fun. PvP is not necessarily relevant. For example, if the condition for winning the game is to find the Sa-Matra and destroy it, I do whatever it takes to win. Likewise, in classic first person shooters, the goal is...

There are already killer nukes in the game. Have you fired Warhammer missiles against a base? A few well-placed Warhammers will smash any late game base (aside from Iocrym). Nemesis missiles are not quite as effective, but they are a close alternative. You need the Ares Launcher to fire Warhammers, ...

Hives can spawn more miners, but they have a limit. After a hive spawns enough additional miners, it will not produce any more. You can see for yourself on a comment in EncountersVol01.xml, line 1147. In one of my recent games, I used the waste cannon to wipe out miner after miner until no more spaw...

I have more thoughts about various weapons, but I will just share one for now. IM90 Multitarget Blaster When enhanced to 150% this weapon is so powerful (because it auto-aims and can inflict high damage) that you can use this against almost everything. This is my weapon of choice against the Iocrym ...

All I can say is give up and do not use mods that can give the enemy overpowered equipment, at least not those you cannot bypass with a gamebreaker of your own.

In standard, Phobos uses the Kaidun shield, which has 800 hp and relatively slow regeneration (that is slightly faster than a Mammoth 100MW). If you have Circle of Wrath and Shatter, use them both. You will likely shatter the Phobos this way (so no loot), but if you need to finish a mission and cann...

Until you befriend the Huari, they are hostile and may attack you. They are much less aggressive than other enemies if you keep your distance and do not attack, but they will attack if you hang around for too long or stray too close to their fortresses. They are also much better armed than most othe...

The following is perspective from me as a gamer rather than as a role-player, storyteller, or developer. As long as Transcendence remains exclusively a computer game, the religious stuff in Transcendence is ultimately an excuse plot. All Domina means to me is how can I exploit her to help me win the...

The only faction I know of who you can befriend are the Huari. They do not fight for you, but once befriended they will let you dock with them and give you missions. They do not give rewards, but the missions can yield some loot (you blast more Sung ships), and if you successfully defend them, you m...

Hang back and shoot with omni? No omni I know of has a range of 100+, unless you are including tracking missiles like Gotha-400 Seekers. As for "perfectly lined up", that is exactly what I am talking about. The Phobos is as dumb as Star Control's Ur-Quan Dreadnought. Sure, the Phobos will veer a bit...

And if you fail just one escort mission for Korolov, your only way to reach Legend is to destroy the Kronosaurus. In a training game, I wanted to see how many missions I could fly before reaching Legend. It took 29 missions without a single failure. Should you destroy the Kronosaurus later after rea...
