Re: 1.08a Solid Smoke
As I was killing outlaw miners in cold blood earlier, I noticed that one of the turrets seemed to have an enormous hitbox. I saw that my shots were actually hitting the smoke that was leaking from the freshly-destroyed turret. My shots were being stopped by the smoke; they weren't just passing thro...

Re: Buying military items without proper identification
yap, you're right, it is not possible to install military items without the military ID. :) But in all versions (1.08 1.08a 1.08b) , the first time I try to buy military items without the military ID, an error occurred with the screens. The 1st time, asked me to install 1 Red Strelka missile 8-) (t...

Re: Wild Mass Guessing
I am proposing that the Iocrym may be something more akin to a heat-seeking missile; an entity with free will has set the Iocrym in motion, but their actions are purely deterministic. If you are being pursued by a missile, it is not because you are at war with missiles. something more akin to the C...

Re: Wild Mass Guessing
Most certainly they could, as a race, be more analogous to the Geth- I was saying it from the perspective of the interaction involved, in that they might not be so bad as a whole, yet the driving force behind why they're blocking the exit to the QZ (Domina, no?) could be a right jerk, and so while ...

Re: Wild Mass Guessing
I think, if anything, the Iocrym will end up like the Quarian- Generally not bad, but they have Han'Gerrel leading them, so you just want to kick their military butt. >_> Is there any in-game evidence that the Iocrym are actually a "race"? I don't think we ever see any evidence that there are livin...

Re: Weapon Appreciation Thread
Well, to be honest I don't fight barbaries or dwarg masters. I sic Jenna or Rama on them respectively. The former are too much trouble to chase down after dropping their shields and the latter will leave me with an annoying, useless mob of raiders that are slightly less annoying and more likely to ...

Re: Weapon Appreciation Thread
I can agree with the first three (especially the third... damn worldships) but... the rest? Not really. Yeah, and I would argue that the Dwarg Master, Barbary, Ronin-III, Steel Slaver, Tundra, and Ranx gunship are all equally dangerous enemies that are easier to fight with omnis. Heck, I'd usually ...

Re: High scores
IFC range leaves much to be desired, but when enhanced, the damage is so high that it does not matter. The only target I would not use it on, at least not without the Domina power Defend, is the command ship because its Avalanche Cannon is about as deadly as a +100% IFC. For the final battle, nothi...

GREETINGS DEAR SIR- Beginner's guide to getting filthy rich
One of the biggest hurdles for a beginning player is making money before St. Katherine's star. Towards the end of the game, every player can be rich beyond dreams of avarice, but at the start money can be tight. So here's my thoughts about how to make money: 1. Max out your cargo capacity ASAP The m...

Re: High scores
Iocrym plasma weapons are (mistakenly?) tagged as energy weapons and may be enhanced by longzhu spheres. This is why the Iocrym Fracture Cannon is so good. Enhance it to +150%, and it will kill anything, except maybe the command ship, in a second or two. I'm not thrilled with the IFC's range or pro...

Re: High scores
So I guess it doesn't count high scores for games w/resurrection? I had a system crash take me out but ascended w/ no natural deaths, but the score didn't log. <Sigh>. I will keep my hold the top score! I think this was my first game with no Black Market shipyards; I was still running a Nova 100 on ...

1.08b unknown crash when using nukes
I had a Transcendence system crash when attacking an Ares commune in an asteroid belt using a Warhammer. I'm running completely vanilla Transcendence 1.08b. I'm not sure if I destroyed the station but I've had other crashes upon station explosions in this version and I think that it may have somethi...

Re: 1.08b AI shuts down
Yeah, I've seen this happen with Anarchists, Penitents, Ares and Sung. I'm not sure that they were associated with a destroyed station but I strongly suspect it. I most recently encountered a frozen Ares patrol on gating back into a system.
