Thoughts on Skyrim

When I first read about Skyrim I had 3dsmax open and I was making a bouncin breast mesh for Oblivion. I still haven't played Skyrim though. Is the game harder than Oblivion? My reflexes are really bad now, just curious because for me to play Oblivion I tend to have to play a 100% sniper and any batt...

decades in the making

I started making a game way back in the 7th grade, I'm close to 40 now (be 39 in a month) so it's been a while. It's gone through many "incarnations" over the years but now it's meant to be an MMORPG. (I have an almost complete ruleset to play it PnP style, the PnP version only lacks a fully fleshed...

Re: Dwarf Fortress (Tombsink Succession Game)

I tried to get into it. I found a link to Dwarf Fortress from somewhere that I was reading about "Aurora", it's called the "Dwarf Fortress of 4x games". Anyway I tried to get into DF, tried for hours (and this was before I cooked my brain) and couldn't figure it out, and couldn't get into it. The as...

Re: Rogue like games

I believe "Elona" is considered a roguelike, I think it's pretty interesting and coded entirely in HSP which is a feat unto itself.

Re: Industrial Pilgrim mining pack

Pteravores could be an option.... Only on petracium 'roids because that's what they eat. I don't know how the game works well enough to know if you can make 'roids spawn specific entities based on what they contain though. It would be interesting to see Ferians get hostile when you start mining in ...

Re: Outlaw ships

I believe there was a mod on xelerus that added a nano weapon capable of healing ships, but I cant seem to find it anymore... I think weapons extended adds some kind of "healing" weapon as well. On topic, the graphics look great! Will the zulu-II also have its size increased? Its current graphic is...

I find this ship strangely beautiful in a WW2 retro-kinda way.

Re: Particle Physics Isn't That Hard Actually

Schroedinger's cat I have been reading of Schroedinger's cat But none of my cats are at all like that. This unusual animal (so it is said) Is simultaneously live and dead! What I don't understand is just why he Can't be one or other, unquestionably. My future now hangs in between eigenstates. In one...

So I while I was looking for a model

to use as a reference for a ship I want to make, I found http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=Tigershark+render&qpvt=Tigershark+render&FORM=IGRE&adlt=strict#view=detail&id=B94C3F34547457F2DC8AFAA9396084BDC37D018A&selectedIndex=22 This car looks like a spaceship all on it's own. I looked up just regul...

Re: Need ideas for where to take this megaproject

I believe both kind of shields you spoken of is possible, though the first might need to be implemented as armors. They're very interesting, and I might make variants of them if you don't mind. :D Use whatever you want-- If anyone sees anything from my game that inspires them you're more than welco...

Re: Your Music

I listen to anything but rap, but over the last few years I've gotten really into big band music for some reason. Like "In the Mood" I can listen to over and over and over again. I currently listen to "The Ink Blots" quite a bit when I'm playing Trans though. I got hooked on them the very first time...

Re: A dynamically created network of starsystems.

I don't care how many systems there are, what I care about is what is there to do in those systems.

Clear cutting a system gets old, so does getting to a base and finding "we have no missions for you" in every new system I get to.

Just give me stuff to do and I'm happy.

Re: Need ideas for where to take this megaproject

Shields In my game I have 2 classifications of shields- A shield is actually a group of shields, right, left, from, and back. You can divert a small amount of energy from the next closest shield to reinforce one that is being pounded, but you risk leaving the weakened sides exposed. They take damage...

Re: Industrial Pilgrim mining pack

I've always been a big fan of mining, even before I cooked my brain it's always been fun to me. In EVE I spent more time mining than anything, in Earth and Beyond it was the same. However in EnB there was a chance that an asteroid might spawn a critter of some sort, could you put something like that...

Re: Particle Physics Isn't That Hard Actually

Everything I've ever needed to know to win at Jeopardy I've learned from a videogame. There's a lot to be learned from the psuedo science in a lot of 4x games, and for history the various Civ games are unbeatable.
