Re: reducing bmp filesize query

If you have ImageMagick, try this: convert MassiveOlympusMask.bmp -alpha deactivate -threshold 1 -colors 2 -define format=bmp2 OlympusMask.bmp  I’m assuming you’d be using the restructured Olympus mask as your input file with this. Testing with the 5920x7104 Executioner spritesheet from TBR, I got ...

Re: 1.8 Release

Yep, George has enhancers redone to work from an item picker instead of just applying to the currently selected primary weapon for either the current or next 1.9 alpha release (and I’m vaguely embarrassed that I’m not sure which).

Re: The Backroads — an alternate route

Update of the (insert random time period here): TBR is currently… slightly broken. It works fine as long as you don’t dock with a Zyrran station; something in the 1.9a update broke things and I have yet to really figure out exactly what.  In other news, I’m finally adding proper compartments for ca...

Re: 1.9 Alpha 1

There is a bug where ROMS that have already been used or analyzed will appear again as unidentified.  Actually, not a bug! Unidentified items can have multiple unidentified incarnations, now; just because you’ve identified one version doesn’t mean you’ve identified all of them. A map ROM can be a R...

Re: storing single save data for continual use query

Putting it in <OnScreenInit> isn’t a terrible thing, per se — the amount of time it adds doesn’t even deserve to be called negligible — but for a one-and-done snippet of code you just need run when the playership is created, <OnGlobalUniverseCreated> is probably going to be your best option. It’s w...

I’ll poke George about this on his weekly stream tomorrow night. I’m pretty sure he’s about the only one who knows all the tricks TransData is capable of.

Re: Some help with playerships please?

I was going by the code you had posted up above. Try changing the imageHeight and imageWidth to 150 in that, then we can see what the HUD is doing.  The hero image is the 320x320 upward-pointing facing the game shows when you’re picking out ships at the start of the game or in things like dock serv...

Re: Some help with playerships please?

Assuming you mean the one that’s simply called “freighter” in that collection, probably the biggest problem you’re running into is that you’re using an imageHeight and imageWidth of 80 for a 150x150 sprite. You’ll need to either resize the spritesheet and its mask to 80x9600 or change the imageHeig...

Could you add the ship graphic you’re trying to use as an attachment?

Re: Couple of simple Suggestions.

There is currently guaranteed to be at least one Tinker generate per game. The problem is actually finding that Tinker. They can show up anywhere up to Jiang’s Star, and if they pop up out in the middle of nowhere? Good luck with that. I agree that adding a guaranteed Tinker in Rigel Aurelius and/o...

Re: ship orders help please

Actually, you don’t really want the 'dock order, anyway, you want the 'loot order. That will dock the ship, transfer the loot (though it will also grab the damaged stuff, which you may need to manually transfer back to the wreck if you want it excluded), and then properly complete to be ready for t...

Re: ship orders help please

Code inside an event all runs at the same time. I can see what it’s doing here. Basically, it’s running the whole enum on finalList, creating a big stack of orders for the auton to go through, and marking them as explored. What you’d need for the effect you’re going for is probably a lambda (to sim...

Re: CSC screen descriptions

Y’know what, why not. The captain of the CSC Mexicana takes a moment to speak with you: "You know what I miss most about living on a Starton? Artificial gravity. If you put something somewhere, it usually stays there. Out here, who knows where it’ll wind up if you don’t strap it down. "Don't sneeze...
