Re: Transcendence.exe for the current git version

Thank you. I had a quick look at the new Squadron features. They look good. Now I need to work out how to use them!

I would love to be able to compile a new version but it is a long way down the list of things to do. But thank you for keeping the info out there for people. Good work.

Transcendence.exe for the current git version

I have put a Transcendence.exe file in the git version previously to get an early look at the changes in the next version. This isn't working ATM. Using a 1.9b3 exe file gives an 'unknown Decontaminate error'. Is there another way of playing the git version that doesn't involve compiling a new versi...

auton device preferences

I have been play testing mods recently and have been using the auton bay a lot. I like it.

I was wondering which weapons, armor and shields forum members use in their autons. Any recommendations? TIA.

Re: Selecting EP capital ships.

Thanks. :D I have previously spent hours writing code only to find that there was a function or property that did what I wanted easily. I thought I would check first! It looks like checking the ShipClass XML attributes for 'dockscreen and not 'character will give a good list as long as cargo autons ...

Re: Commander's Log - Captains' Log copy

A version for 1.9b3 is attached. Requires 1.9b3 (API 51). Items now show their price. The ship broker feature works now. icarus Station, the Kibo shipyard and Eternity Port now show at game start. And Dreaming Nexus stations also show in the lists now. St Kats arcology code has been changed to handl...

Re: Looking For --> Side-mounted Howitzer

That howitzer is in the Corporate Command code in Omnithor.xml.

Search 'decompile' and 'decompiling' in this forum to find out how to open the Corporate Command .tdb files and access the Omnithor.xml file.

Selecting EP capital ships.

The Commander's Log mod shows stations and CSCs for the player to refer to. I would like to also show the capital ships from EP. The APD, etc heavy cruisers and the like. But I'm not sure of the best way to filter them from every other large ship. In theory a friendly capital ship minus the freighte...

Re: Network

Many, many thanks, wnmnkh. You've cracked it. You put the thought in my head that I could use overrides to add the Network to SOTP. And it worked! Corporate Command and the Near Stars are also available. Attached is the Network as an extension of SOTP. Unzip it into the Extensions folder. At game st...

new encounters code help please

I'm struggling with the new encounters feature. I think I know what it can do but I can't make it work. That 'whoosh' sound was all the info flying straight over the top of my head when I read the Encounter Guidelines ticket on the Ministry! Using Semesta as an example (thanks DigaRW) what would the...

Re: Linux XML editor suggestions please.

Thanks. But this is Linux so it is never that easy! :D The gedit I have has very few features, no header bar with "File, Save, etc" and about 4 options to modify it, none of which appear to do anything. I did a web search and the features it is supposed to have look good but I have no idea ho...

Project Renegade patch for 1.9b3

Thanks to a prompt by a couple of members, I whipped up a patch which allows the Renegade extension to work in 1.9b3. It only fixes the 'Cannot create system Sanzu' error during game creation. There may be more bugs, I haven't done any play-testing but Rengade will load and the systems appear in the...

Linux XML editor suggestions please.

Currently still using Notepad++ via WIne in Ubuntu but it is slow and a bit laggy sometimes. It was designed for Windows so I think the transition hasn't helped it. What program do other Linux users use? I did try Sublime Text when I was using Windows. I liked it but it had a bug in the bracket matc...

Re: Why won't Renegade appear?

Thanks, Ferdinand. I wasn't sure if someone had maybe patched it so it didn't appear since it doesn't work in current versions. But on doing a bit more searching I found the cause. It is being blocked from appearing in the extensions list by a line of code in Settings.xml. There is an <Extensions> s...

Re: SEMESTA 2.0 REBOOT

OK, fair enough. Isn't it fun keeping up with new code!
I was only looking at the placement of the systems on the galactic map anyway so I've enabled it. Thanks for the quick reply.
