Re: Ungoverned Territories places too much emphasis on shields

Hmm, never found those Lumiere ships to powerful to overcome, usually I harvest them for their weapons.... But hey, I do use dock services, autorepair devices, regenerative armor and everything else. But I somewhat agree on the emp effect, it is annoying. The fact that it leaves you spinning in a st...

Re: Ungoverned Territories places too much emphasis on shields

Well, I do not agree.

Those properties keep the game interesting and challenging. If you want it easy just play in story mode.

Those enemies make you choose your armor and/or shields wisely. I often play without shields and it is very much possible to overcome all these enemies if you choose well.

Re: 1.9 Release

Well this was frustrating ... I was playing 1.9 a moment ago and had just arrived in the system with the Rasiermesser manufacturing plant. I turned in a number of items for research, and it dawned on me that a number of wrecks in the system had broken Rasiermesser weapons and that I had never used ...

Re: Rogue pilgrim mission difficulty

I found the mission to be easy, The fight was over in seconds. Took a few hits on my Blast plate armor, but had no shields at all on my Manticore. However a barrage of Burak500 missile proved to be very effective to deal with the rogue pilgrim....

Re: Ships densities seem low

Just take a look at an actual spaceship, the lunar lander from the Apollo 17 mission. According to NASA it was about 4.2 meters high and had a total dry weight of 5195 kg (everything included except fuel and crew) Now those futuristic spacecraft in Transcendence are of course made of new materials t...

Re: Game completion achievements?

There are a couple more achievements that I should have received as well ("Gladiator" and "Freighter Escort"). The latter is also at 0%, which is strange given how relatively easy it should be. EDIT: Gladiator is only achieved after you complete the three initial free-for-all combats. Well, if you ...

Re: Are there any cohesive guides or boards where i can find all the secret stuff that i have missed in the game.

You do not get the mission if you do not befriend the Huari, either by destroying one or more of their stations/ships, or you did not destroy enough Sung fortresses for them to trust you. So, leave the Huari alone (even if they shoot you, just run away) and make sure to destroy every Sung fortress y...

Consider doing a mission for them or donating something (if you have anything they want).

Re: Transcendence OpenGL builds

In any case, OpenGL creates a better opportunity to make Transcendence cross platform.
Even if still relying on Wine to run Transcendence on Linux, it will be more performant because what Wine does is taking the DirectX code and transcoding it to OpenGL. That step is no longer necessary.

Re: Project Renegade patch for 1.9b3

Well relanat, Renegade has its own Ministry entry, you could start there. You have already solved one of the bugs (the game does not start).
Some of those bugs you reported yourself, go have a stab at it i would say. Your coding skills have grown seriously since you made those posts....

Re: Why won't Renegade appear?

For me it just appears in the list of extensions. I can select it and when I start a game it crashes after the ship selection on creation of the Renegade systems. So I leave it disabled. :( It really is a good mod with excellent design, and superb ships. Innovative weapons and other items and needin...

Re: steam vs multiverse downloading

Transcendence works fine with Wine. So should also work with Proton.
However I think sending George a Personal Message should work to get you a multiverse ID so you can play Transcendence on Linux without Steam.
