I usually try to engage earth slavers and citadels only in places where there is cover (a planet, star, or large dead ship) to hide behind in the instance of a shield-down. Happily, dead earth slavers make good cover ships :) I usually have a jumpdrive, so that enables me to "run away if I need to. ...

what the Teratons would eat ? I always assumed that they ate, er, "soylent green" (IE, that they ate other human beings). I also assumed that the ringers ate an almost-no-meat diet. You've seen their stations, right? they're all great big zero G greenhouses! Ringers have adapted to zero g, so only ...

You're not the only one. There are a couple of tactics: 1. go on the offensive. If you fly in the direction of the bolts with guns blazing, you'll shoot down some of the bolts before they get to you, and you can kill the dwarg guy before he can do to much damage. I use Omni weapons, so I usually hit...

Did you dock anywhere? any CW-affiliated station will take them, thank you kindly, and then pretend like you never existed :)

If it's really *that* much of a problem, you could always buy and install a lower-level reactor (and less energy-intensive toys) for the time you intend to be in the low-level systems, then put your 1 gig and big toys back on when you get back to the high level areas. Here's what I do (spoilers!): I...

I'll try to suggest some solutions that *don't* involve modding. first: double-check your inventory for fuel. You can usually use several different types of fuel rods. you might have one type but not the other. Probably not. You can often use longzhu spheres as fuel (though that's obviously a very e...

I've had success with an IM90 - if you can get all three arcs hitting him at the same time, it deals plenty of damage - particularily if it's it's an IM90 +XX%

we modders are working on this... (or some of us anyway :D )

And with the ability to buy a ship would come (hopefully) the ability to *steal* a ship, ie one time out of 1000, a ship you blow up can be repaired and flown.

Supposedly, you should be able to get a mission now. We're talking about going to a commonwealth fortress (non-mobile station with no weapons) and getting a mission. If you can't then you haven't done the things you say you've done (the game didn't record it or something). did you finish the arena (...

not really. It is a mission that *starts* as soon as you enter the system, but you can't really get involved in it until you dock and receive your orders at Point Juno. My experience is that the mission (the huge cloud of ares ships attacking point juno station) starts when you warp in. If you have...

1. The military stations will only trade with you when you are a member of the military, i.e. after you have done at least one mission. After the first mission, you will have a military ID card, and access to the armory (ability to buy weapons). You need to do missions for the fortresses before you ...

A storyline suggestion for 1.0

So I was reading in the OT forum about the stroylines that a post-heretic game might have. Most people agree that you either must have no humans, or have humans somehow slowly come from the heretic gate, since they couldn't have been there before the gate was opened. I wanted to suggest a storyline ...

Re: I'm being chased.

Owww, man! I just got a HUGE combined fleet on my tail. I have a habit to destroy EVERY hostile station and in the system. Is this why I have a fleet of epic proportions on my tail? (Off-Topic) How do I make a ROM/Something that asks me what kind of ship to spawn, how many and if it is hostile to m...

I've beaten the Iocrym ship with the lamplighter, im90, the QAC and the Kytrynn plasma cannon. I heard of someone beating it with the ferian plasma mining thingy.

I'd *love* this! let them shoot at you for half an hour, then kill them and harvest 50 tons of ore per wreck!
