With the level three weapons comes the first omni weapon, the omni laser. Weak though it is, the omni ability is *so* useful. It does less damage per shot, bu every shot hits. No matter how you are dodging and weaving, no matter how the enemy is dodging and weaving, if you're within 60 light seconds...

Ok, so here's my attempt at a "beating the Charon pirates" primer. As I said before, move forward to st k's, get useful weapons and shields, then go back to charon for the battle. Since my name is Omniaddict, this primer requires that you have all omnidirectional weapons. The omni weapons you are li...

If you're in Charon, the next system should be St. Katherine's Star. St. K's is sort of like the Walmart of the transcendence universe: there's going to be weapons shops, armor shops, tinkers, Sisters, commonwealth buildings... It's the last friendly place before a bunch of nasty sectors. So find th...

Right, The most common use for the fabricator is to get a useable amount of ammo for a gun whose ammo is too rare to be useful otherwise. Thermo cannon shells, Plasma pods, and late game missles are good examples. Disintegrator shells sell for 200 rin each, but because they are level 14 (or so) ammo...

**SPOILERS** To use the teraton fabricator to duplicate ammo, feed three things to the fabricator: - Misato sake improves it's "mood" - Fuel of any sort gives it energy - armor of any sort, even damaged, gives it material. generically, (someone will come along shortly and correct me) the level of th...

remember:
The more "exploity"way to mine asteroids is to get a shield that is immune to laser fire (or laser reflective armor, or whatever), then get a bunch of mining ships following you, and then sit in an asteroid field. The enemy laser fire will mine the rocks for you.

A new way to make rins from Teratons? (spoilers abound)
So, I beat the iocrym, as I have a few times before, except this time I did not do the "wait on the planet" trick. (If you park over top of the planet, where the Iocrym can't hit you, he will eventually run out of disintegrator shells) So I beat him, and lo and behold, he has a bunch of disintegrato...

And what's worse, if you let the station die and then bust the pirates, you get a "toughness" mark in your file that lets you do the military missions later. If you save the korolov station, you get no mark, and have to get it instead by doing all korolov missions, or saving slaves, or whatever. The...

Save Charon! As we all know, there's a station in Charon that gets swamped by pirates, everybody dies, and you have to go kill all the pirates in revenge. Or do you? It is possible to save charon, and in fact many people have. just ring the station with titanium barricades, then shoot down the enemy...

Re: Wondering about Domina :)
I'm a couple systems past Sanctuary now (for some reason Sanctuary seems like a pre-established system, much like Eridani or St. Katherine's Star), and I still haven't gained any extra abilities from Domina. I don't have any money, or any extra supplies heh, and I've farmed out every system before ...

Re: Lucky Dog!
What's the most notorious bit of luck that's happened to you in the game? Tell us your luck story. In my most recent finished game, my first purchased generator was the gigawatt. I found a 150x in a wreck before st.k's, bought a jump drive shortly after st. k's, jumped to the end, and 2 sectors bac...

They're handy for defense missions like point juno or the ag station - provided you have a freighter or lots of mules because they are quite heavy. Any other situation and they probably aren't worth the weight - however if there are enemies close to where you found them it might be worth it just to...

Just in case you think I'm being petty...
This bug is easy to stumble upon: the easiest way to feed the fabricator is to empty your inventory except for the one item you're trying to feed (say, hundreds of fuel rods), feed the first item to the fabricator, then hold down the enter key until it's all gone. But if you hold down the enter key ...

Galactic empires
Oddbob: For a game with in-depth interaction between AI and player, check out Galactic civilizations II (there's a demo out there). If you're fighting enemies A,B, and C, and B has diplomatic relations with A and C, C will attack you, annhialate all your ships, and then leave you alone until you mak...
