Models be bugged indeed. It says 'invalid file format' when I try to import into 3ds Max 2010/2011. Anybody else got them to work?

Owww, man! I just got a HUGE combined fleet on my tail. I have a habit to destroy EVERY hostile station and in the system. Is this why I have a fleet of epic proportions on my tail? (Off-Topic) How do I make a ROM/Something that asks me what kind of ship to spawn, how many and if it is hostile to me...
